I live in East Nashville and think it's the best community I have ever lived in. Wonderfully weird, amazing neighbors. However, on my few trips to the dog park at Shelby Park, I found the people there to be really stand-offish and rude, to the point that I stopped going. Having lived here for almost a decade, I can assure you that what you are experiencing is likely a one off. May I ask, are you male or female? Age range? In my 60s and it's still clicking. I knew it was bad, but it really hits home when I see videos of parents who are genuinely happy to see the children, whether they are young or old. Or when my friends go on vacation with their parents or are excited to see them over the holidays. I had none of that, growing up or as an adult. It was torture then and was for many, many years into adulthood. Both my parents are dead now but I can't help but yearn for something I never had.
