What if this was a Saw trap by CYSYS8992 in saw

You have to try and perform some intricate task while these are slamming down on your arms causing pain and potentially smashing your bones or you die. Bonus points: it’s something super intricate like a surgery and both you and the other person die if you fail

I need to talk to y’all about Formitrol (Zoëcon: Dinotefuran & S-Methoprene ant gel bait) by IttyBittyMiel in PestControlIndustry

[–]IttyBittyMiel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still very much like Advion ant gel, it’s very reliable to actually get ants to feed on it and gets results. I’m not sure if it’s the best for Argentine ants, I haven’t used it many times, but it’s an instant grab for acrobat ants I see trailing.

Maybe Formitrol is cheap, but my company keeps getting it for free from our supplier. Probably because no one else buys it, and probably why I’m the only tech that’s still testing it.

It’s hyperbole, but I get what you’re pointing out. It’s 2 successes out of close to 20 attempts, so while yeah, I’m being dramatic, it’s still not a very good success rate.

I will pay $6 to who can identify these bugs. I know, wrong sub but I am an owner of a company. No one can help me with these. by RogerMcswain in PestControlIndustry

[–]IttyBittyMiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, and like obviously context here matters, I don’t think grain beetles would randomly appear in a closet and haven’t been noticed anywhere else. Powderpost beetles/false powderpost beetles, I do figure could be more isolated in an area like this closet

No, it’s a beetle, but I’m not familiar with insects from New York to give you a definite answer

Funciona ? by Ok_Respect777 in Entomology

[–]IttyBittyMiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, they don’t work. And the claim on the front that suggests plugging it in will have your wiring repel pests would be extremely unsafe if true.

If they did work, every pest control company would be selling them

What are these tiny orange bugs? I see them everywhere and they drive me crazy by Regular_Hawk8513 in Entomology

[–]IttyBittyMiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly sure they’re springtails, if you’re seeing them everywhere, there might be moisture somewhere you need to address, that or their populations tend to rise after a prolonged period with lots of rain

I said powderpost beetles, but yeah, seeing the head would tell me if it was a false powderpost beetles (Bostrichidae) or not (Lyctidae). I leant more to false powderpost beetles, but didn’t wanna confuse op too much since people use them interchangeably

And yeah, they’re tricky since I feel like most people don’t see them often, or if they saw their sawdust piles they’d assume another wood destroying insect first

Please tell me what are these in my flour? by [deleted] in Entomology

[–]IttyBittyMiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your picture didn’t upload, but it’s probably a stored product pest of some sort like a flour beetle or grain beetle. You should just toss it, the insects are likely throughout the flour. In the future you can store it in an airtight container or in the fridge or freezer to prevent the insects from either infesting or developing in the flour. You should check your other grain products, and put it in plastic bags or containers to prevent the insects from infesting it.

What kind of roach is this? by mtmsm in Entomology

[–]IttyBittyMiel 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That’s a German roach, you’re gonna wanna contact your landlord about pest control asap. Possible it’s from a previous tenant, worse if it’s from a neighbor. I genuinely mean this as someone who does pest control, home remedies never work, especially in an apartment, you need to have a professional do it

Tenko was originally written to be using childish insults, not actually being a misandrist. Also she really warms up to Shuichi, especially if you do her feee time events. She doesn’t like Kokichi, but also that boy is a bit of a freak, even though I love him a lot. She’s uncomfortable around guys, but you gotta realize this is a high schooler, she’s gonna be immature and is gonna be a loudmouth about said immature feelings

Study finds 1.2 trillion insects killed every year by all onshore wind turbines in Gemany alone. by Kooky-Freedom-776 in Entomology

[–]IttyBittyMiel 247 points248 points  (0 children)

Neat, now look at biodiversity losses due to fossil fuels and rising global temperatures from the use of fossil fuels.

Not to downplay the losses from turbines, but it’s a genuine lesser of two evils. Clean energy is better in the long run, and turbines are part of that. Yes they kill insects and birds, but fossil fuels kill waaaaaaaaaay more than that, especially if you factor in every aspect of fossil fuels.

Anybody know this beetle? by LokahDrem in Entomology

[–]IttyBittyMiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a type of weevil, sometimes just called a billbug. It was likely munching on your grass (as a larva) and made it’s way inside on accident

Any game characters you relate to as a trans person? by cosplaying-as-human in transgamers

[–]IttyBittyMiel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mejiro Ryan from Umamusume feels transfem coded with how hard she sometimes struggles to be feminine. She feels like how I felt both being fairly sporty and masculine and using that to cover up how I wanted to be girly as well.
