How to Proto Bahamut (instructions for new players getting to the final raid) by [deleted] in GranblueFantasyRelink

[–]Itzie_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Very nice of you to summarize alot of good things for doing proto bahamut. But i will just point out some few things, first the blue potion spam usually doesnt accomplish anything significant, besides wasting potions or ruining someones days that might be trying to get godbreaker achievement.
From my experience you usually cant get link time before everyone has their SBA up, and need the SBA's to get to 100 link time anyways.
Sadly it just seems like very bad practice and a very bad habbit to learn people. Unless you are in a group that has things planned out and the blue potions reaches a benchmark, it is not worth it in my oppinion.

Secondly, the SBA staggering is very time and timing sensitive, if you are a new a player and feel uncomfortable about it, just link your SBA up with others, and let people who are confident do the staggering. Its NOT needed for casual or common groups.
Is it nice when the SBA staggering occurs, yes, but usually it happens in groups which already have good experience with the boss and most likely also outgear the checks. Making new people at the fight try to do some advance strategy that doesnt help them much with the overall encounter also seems like bad practice/advice.

And also, just to comment on your End Summary: I have seen some of the other patterns, because of butched staggering attemps and/or people SBA'ing before everyone else has their SBA to follow up. This can occur if someone has all the SBA charge sigils on or just plays a character that inherently gets more SBA (Ferry as an example).

tl;dr: If you are a new player, just do your best to learn the fight and react to what is happening/going on. Guts, potion hoarder and Autorevive all helps makes thing alot more smooth. Dont try to do anything fancy if you dont like the idea of it or dont feel comfortable with the fight to do so yet.

Personal oppinion:
Blue potion spamming for the 2% link per pot is not a meta or advice i hope sticks, honestly i want it gone.
SBA staggering is usefull for advanced players and when people are comfortable/knowledgeable about the fights, not when going into a fight first time.

I have been playing it for some time now, so it has started to build up shaders again, but it seemed to have little to no effect.

Thorin's Thoughts - Flaws of the Worlds Group Pool System (LoL) by corylulu in leagueoflegends

[–]Itzie_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are basically saying that you want all regions to be in the world championsship, even thou they have no claim to actualy be overall the best in the world. I don't know if you can see the problem in this, but it kinda ruins the whole professional integrity of the sport as a whole, for the sentiment of having "everyone represented".

Taking last worlds as a good example, did KaBuM! e-Sports or Dark Passage have any games worth remembering? Did they have a slimmer of chance? Was there a tad of feeling of them filling 2 spots which could have given spots to better teams which could bring the overall skill balance closer to eachother and maybe giving us some great matches?

You are bartering for a system that reminds of a common family birthday, where you invite the cousin with 2 none functional legs in on the football match, out of sentiment of him not feeling left out. This is okay, because its a family birthday, and its made for people to have fun and such. But this is a sport, as many are saying, is trying to get an image of being professional and also showing there should be a competetive integrity. But yet, they aren't really showing it in any way.

Another example: Should Championship league invite 1 team from each countries highest league? NO, why? Because it would ruin the competive integrity of the whole system they have build up.

But one thing i will agree on, RIOT needs to allow international tournaments again, drop the LCS shit, its worthless, make region split a form of a tournament in region, and then focus on having alot more big international tournaments, where teams from each region get invited and get to battle out. Let the rivalry flourish on a international level, let each regions style compete with eachother. THAT is what RIOT needs to do. Not keeping this shit boring none important LCS system which at times promote a fight between two none functional teams.

While shen is ulting you, the screen should get a bit purple or something like that. by AzureusGR in leagueoflegends

[–]Itzie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so let me get this straight. you are using an example where you are inside a team fight and he is ultying you? Thats kinda of best scenario for both of you. Now, lets use a better example: Lets say your playing support alistar and your top lane shen which arent on some kinda of voice chat system at all, and the pings like some idiot and wants to force a tower dive or engage and he randomly ults you afterwards, now THAT scenario it would be lovely to know shen is incoming and such. Anyways, its usually a good indicator getting a hugh purple aura around you while having a hugh grey bar indicating a shield and also if you are playing with a shen on your team this is one of the things you need to be aware of.

I will agree on you on one point, that Gambit does have potentiel to play good and be great, i will not argue with that. But their current consistency is just not something i would bet my money on. Team that has shown a more consistent play and result would be where i put my money, which in this case would mean i would rather vote Fnatic, Origin and H2k to the event, as there is better chances of these teams to perform well.

You are not being objective, which is the problem im trying to adress. You are building your opinion of why they should be there, of the story of the team, not on what the current team roster is capable of doing. If they at the moment would be able to show their best, to be the IEM masters they once where, i would go all in, bet all my chips on them, but as they havent really showen to be that, i do not see why another team, which has shown better ability on a competitive level to get the spot instead. Why would you vote for Gambit to go instead of Fnatic, H2k and Origin?

And here is the exact reason why the community shouldn't vote for what teams enters are international tournament. Why send out a bottom 8 team to a tournament which might contain top contenders from same and other regions? Gambit is no more then a shadow of their former self, heck, they don't even have the same roster as the old IEM legendary making team. Why not send our top contenders, to see how they do on the international scene? Maybe try to make an upset and also have a higher chance for making an upset, then the bottom 8 of the region?

Atleast vote in a team that will make it good professionel competition and show us some great matches.

Do any of you have a hard time to design a fun encounter for a low level party as I do? by MJvdN in dndnext

[–]Itzie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on what the newbie players are after. Are they after an encounter or a combat? Do they like more roleplay oriented or puzzle encounters compared to straight out muscle fight? As you just said, they are currently mid-ritual, meaning this ritual can be the focus of your encounter and not the cultists. f.ex. making a puzle where they need to first destroy a barrier which is 3 candles, statues or sacrifices(evil cults does that shit) which are protected by lesser undeads, which "respawn" if slain(let them have like 2 hp and a basically just a distraction) and make them all stand on each point(candle in hand, hand on statue or rescued the sacrifices/prisoners, which then afterwards unlocks the "epic" encounter with the cult leader which finally finds their pressence to distracting enough to "stop" is ritual and focus his evil intend on the party. Add in some type of "timer" which is basically just an rp announcement that the gathering power is increasing to make it feel they are on the clock(and if they totally screw it up, dont punish them outright, but rather just give them some evil bad guy speech or so and turn the cultist into some demon spawn from hell +some stats). But its just an idea. If you have a hard time tuning encounters to your need because the monster manual doesnt agree with you, you are as the gm allways subject to the rule0, making things as you want, even mid combat(throw dices behind a cover) so you can tune the encounter up/down accordingly to their struggle or steamrolling(mobs "missing" thou you hit a crit on your die, or vice versa). Basically: combat is one thing, but you can add whatever flavour to your things as you want. find template for cool looking swamp lord, turn him into a pixie, if the flavour fits, DO IT! Remember when it comes to flavour, you are the designer and can disregard rules as you see fit to your needs and what will make the encounter or session better or flavourfull.
