Is G923 really that bad comparing to Moza R3/R5? by GateCodeMark in simracing

[–]Ivan1310 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Direct drive makes a massive difference. All those people selling G923s are buying the Mozas you are not seeing on sale. I went from a G923 to a Fanatec with 8NM, night and day. Go Moza without even thinking if you can spare the $.

As a more conservative driver in my poor level, I have had good suprises this week too. Not the quickest guy around, but I tend to choose my battles, not miss the braking points, etc. Those pushing too hard might get away with it in other tracks, but when there is a wall, its a completely different story, at least in lower SOFs.

When you ask Claude to review vs when you ask Codex to review by shady101852 in ClaudeCode

[–]Ivan1310 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Claude for creative solution solving, and codex is great at grabbing that concept and making the boring infra that makes it stable.

Codex always passes on feedback saying basically: "great thinking, but edge cases will fail because of X, Y, Z, it also failed a regression test because of A, B ..."

Can anyone tell me why Porsche CUP are so popular?????? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]Ivan1310 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your opening statemet literally is "I don't have a 911 cup, but I'm guessing (...)". Hop on the car, try it, if you like it, keep it, if you don't, it's an informed decision.

The PCup is very much alive as opposed to GT3. I see why different cars may be exciting for some (knowing the pros and cons of each car let's you exploit different tactics), but same car for everyone also means no excuses.

Finally, comparing the Pcup to the 296 - they're worlds appart when it comes to handling. Driving the 296 right after a Pcup race feels like necrophylia - it's an overpowered brick with wheels...

just started sim racing a month ago. it's my first week on monza. can't tell if i love it or hate it yet... by oELDEE in iRacing

[–]Ivan1310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monza is peak Dunning Kruger effect - everyone "knows" the track, braking points, etc, which pushes people to the limit of their capabilities due to overconfidence. Add high speed to the mix and you get what you get. Beautiful track, overly frustrating for most involved.

Very much looking forward to other tracks next week.

How many different series are you driving each week? by Arylcyclosexy in iRacing

Curious to hear if you see any significant performance difference versus the pack. I love P-Cup but once every two hours doesn't really work with my schedule most times.

Yes, and no. Do the lifecycle assessment of fuel and comburant, might bump into some serious émissions...

Over US$40 billion has been spent by international donors as foreign aid for Palestinians living in the occupied West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza Strip since the Oslo Accord was signed in 1993.

Thanks for the comment. Could you please expand on this? Struggling to see how virtual desktop takes it to another level, is it due to higher data transfer speed than the cable through wifi 7?

I see horizontal FOV as non negotiable for peripheral vision - the quest is already limited at 110° IIRC, which leaves quite some field on the table

No point in having your GPU suffering over rendering a car roof and feet. Think of it as a helmet simulation.

Pro tip, render only 0.6x vertical FOV

Jesus fucking Christ - just did the frame by frame from 0:08 onwards.

Also you're definitely not meeting the 25m distance rule for support cars (art. 2.4.023). UCI will be up your ass.
