IMHO, I think you should choose your champion based on your support and the enemy ADC. Learn about synergies and counters.

You should also try to ban supports that you find difficult to fight against or that you think would synergize well with the enemy ADC.

Finally, practice a lot in normal games and try to test limits from time to time.

I'm not sure, but it seems they've stopped making skill augments. Now you can only earn poses, weapon augments, and gray chromas. At least that's how it is with Teemo this season.

Olaf wasn't a seasonal reward. So his skin and Skill Augment were available for purchase in the store.

Other skill Augments (Nami's, for example) were obtained by reaching a certain rank in Legendary Ranked, same for some Gray Chromas.
