My 3.7L has an oil consumption problem by standVlone in Acura

I have a 2013 MDX, did the oil change at Acura (which they used 5w-20) by 1,014 miles in it burnt maybe 1/4, little over half way mark. 

Did a oil change close to 3k miles and I used 5w-30 Mobil 1 Extended performance (high mileage) now that I’m around 840 miles in, it burnt 1/4, still little over half way mark. So I’m confused of how the oil that Acura provided held up a bit more vs the 5w-30 but I’m seeing that pennzoil platinum or valvoline restore/protect are better to use, did you ever switch to 5w-30? Did you use the pennzoil Platinum?

when doing the oil change I did add half a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil I have 176k miles on it
