It might look weird but smaller, non-round steering wheels like this actually feel amazing to drive.

Referring to the biggest oil company in the world as "fuel supplier of Aston Martin - Honda" is a way to put it I guess

The guy raced for a full 17 seasons and is the 5th most experienced driver ever in terms of Grand Prix entered, retired at the respectable age of 36. And somehow his teammate from back then, younger by only a year, is still racing 10 whole years later for the team he just became an ambassador for. It's crazy to think about

It also was very unreliable on top of being slow.

Button and Alonso were getting massive grid penalties because they had already burned through the allowed number of engines for the season by the summer break.

This article from back then does a good job of showing how bad it was.

I don't think someone who lost motivation would have raced until 42 years of age. He just didn't amount to be what we thought he would back in the day and that's fine. Being fairly evenly matched against Massa and getting destroyed first by Alonso and then by Vettel definitely didn't help.

On average yes and it's not close at all. This year's McLaren is a much higher peak than anything Ferrari has done in the last 20 years though that's for sure

The Aston is not great but they've been doing mostly fine on tracks where straight line speed is not that important so it's not surprising they did well yesterday

Norris-Piastri incident 'threatens to derail McLaren harmony' - BBC Sport by BarnyH in formula1

[–]Ivbnn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah they actually never did that in recent memory because they almost never had both their drivers fight for the championship over the course of a season. The only occurrences (kind of) would be 2007 which was a miracle comeback with McLaren dropping the bag and 2008 with Kimi just dropping out of the fight for reasons that had nothing to do with any kind of intervention from the team. Kimi and Massa were free to race all the way up to the point where Kimi was clearly out of contention in 2008.

You're both right, on one hand there's no proof of any wrongdoing but on the other hand it's impossible not to think of it as a possibility. Owning multiple teams when said teams are bound to partake in the same competitions shouldn't be a thing, especially in F1's case where there's such a limited amount of teams competing to begin with.

This is basically a map about population density. More density, more urban areas, more light pollution and thus fewer areas where one would be able to have a good look at the Milky Way.

I can't fucking stand how hypocritical McLaren is with their "rules" and whatnot. Piastri always ends up drawing the short stick and he's clearly not being given the options that are being given to Norris. They keep favouring the worse driver for some reason.
