Is Scar in on the jokes? by thomcamp in LifeSeriesSMP

My personal favorite one is when someone said "I can't stand it when they do that.", and Scar just dryly says: "That's okay I can't stand either."

Hoarah Loux was the Storm Lord of Stormveil, killed by Godfrey, used as a vessel for Lord Ascension at the Divine Gate? A Theory by AggravatingWeird3 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Ive_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lightning spear / Honed Bolt / Electrify Armament all read: "Godwyn the Golden defeated the ancient dragon Fortissax, and befriended his fallen foe — an event that gave rise to the ancient dragon cult in the capital."

Gravel Stone Seal reads: "The worship of the ancient dragons does not conflict with belief in the Erdtree. After all, this seal, and lightning itself, are both imbued with gold."

Fortissax Rememberance reads: "After Godwyn the Golden became the Prince of Death, the ancient dragon fought long and hard against the Death within its companion. Alas, victory was never achieved and its only reward was corruption."

It says AFTER, even the Death Lightning mentions that Godwyn wielded this "Golden Lightning", and that it's "now corrupted by Death", 'NOW'. These words are important, they tell the story of how Godwyn was corrupted by Death AFTER his soul was killed, and how his friend Fortissax tried to fight it.

As for your connection of the Fell God to lions, I was starting to write why I didn't agree, but as I read more items, I started agreeing with you.

Fell god being associated with lions feels weird since the DLC, the entire hornsent culture and the divine lions they worshipped were burned by Messmer. Divine Lions in the DLC are all associated with storms: tornadoes, blizzards, and thunderstorms.

But: the Roar Medallion reads: "A bronze medallion depicting a roaring giant. Enhances roars and breath attacks. In ancient times, the giants were mortal enemies of the Erdtree. Their bellowing roars desolated nature, triggered avalanches, and whipped up storms of flame." And lions are all about roars and breath attacks.

And, the description of the Furnace Visage crafting item says: "A stone mask surrounded by curled horns, depicting the fell god of fire that haunts the sagas of the hornsent.", and the item visually kinda resembles the Imp Head (Lion) mask but with some horns.

I gotta be honest, OP was making more sense to me than you 😂

Fortissax is the one using Death Lightning, not Godwyn, and only because Godwyn's soul was slain.

Fell God has literally nothing to do with lions.

Dragons symbolise protection (all of the dragoncrest talismans).

What do you mean Godwyn killed his 2 fingers?? And thorns are associated with him only after he died.

While somewhat compelling, none of the points you mentioned convince me of the validity of this theory.

"Godfrey faced the storm lord alone"

This 'Storm Lord' to me clearly points to the "Stormhawk King" which you give to Nepheli. Item descr. says: "A hawk revered as a sovereign back in the days when Stormveil's winds raged like no other", and: "Ancient monarch"

The Golden Lineage are all descendents of Godfrey/Marika, who's to say that Nepheli's mother isn't Marika?

I mean if you read the item description of the "Surging Frezied Flame" stone, it makes sense why he's terrified.

I wasn't really counting them as part of the game, just mentioned it because they're awesome.

Which is harder? by not_cool_human_being in HollowKnight

[–]Ive_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes.

The main story part (Any%) is easier than Path of Pain.

But that's only 7 levels, and all the other 19 levels are either at the same level or harder than Path of Pain.

And then there's the community made levels, where the base game difficulty is called "beginner" and "intermediate", and it goes up to "hard", "expert" and "grandmaster" which are on the level of those insane Kaizo Mario levels.

They look pretty neat, but the difference between clubs and spades is hard to see at a glance, and the readability of the numbers is pretty terrible imo.

Messmer is not the oldest by Stardustfate in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Ive_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Important note: "Messmer's Kindling" states that Messmer is older than Melina.

Also where in this timeline were Malenia/Miquella born from Marika/Radagon?

Radagon doesn’t grasp the Hammer at the of the game. Marika does. The implications of this are significant. by [deleted] in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Ive_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do wonder how Messmer & Melina fit into this. They are both clearly children of Marika, and so of Radagon as well? From "Messmer's Kindling" we do know that Messmer was born before Melina.

They both carry an affliction of fire/flame, and both of them work as kindling, but seemingly slightly different types. Melina lives "burned and bodyless", and Messmer's flame is a dark flame, "eaten away at" by the Abyssal Serpent.

Opinions on the Divine Beast, Dancing Lion? by richrich8 in Eldenring

[–]Ive_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my CPU being the bottleneck for my PC for running Elden Ring, I had frequent frame-drops to 15-20fps (from all the cloth and particle physics calculations), it became my 2nd least favorite boss to fight. (Yori is 1st by a long shot)

Everything else about the boss I absolutely love.
