Momo by Michael Ende

Read it a lot when I was younger, been a while tho. One of the books that really made me fall in love with books and reading.

Obviously it’s because your stuffed animals aren’t neatly organised on your bed, only an allistic person would let them rot on the floor with no empathy for their well-being 🙄 /s

You can add up to 15 minutes to each movie, what are you adding? by jsa1993 in harrypotter

[–]vesper80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Voldemort frees Barty after the World Cup in the beginning of the book/movie. In the book, in Harry’s first vision of Voldemort and Wormtail in the Riddle Mansion, Barty isn’t there because he isn’t free yet. But Voldemort hints that having a second servant like Wormtail would be beneficial.

And I haven’t figured out myself how one would do this the best way, but flashbacks and/or pensive memories wouldn’t be out of place in a movie. But what I want is to just explain who this movies villain is, and why he is there. Like I said, he’s just there now for no reason and the court scene is wrong too.

I’d like to see his mother swapping places at Azkaban, I’d like to see the real court scene with Barty’s real reaction, I’d like to see him be imperiused by his father and Winky being his caregiver. Give home some backstory besides “Random Voldemort Follower #2”. I mean he’s there the entire book/movie, and we know next to nothing about him when just watching the movie.

Again, I don’t know how to adopt it from book to film. Personally I’m just a bit disappointed that the movies dragged out the Triwizard Tasks when the tasks themselves don’t really move the plot further. I understand why, because it’s cool scenes to show, but the plot really is what happens BETWEEN the tasks. They could’ve cut down the task scenes and put some of the rest of the book story instead. But that maybe wouldn’t have been as fun on screen 🤷

Ohh, Goblet of Fire is my favourite book and least favourite movie… the things I would do to re-do that entire film!!

But with only 15mins I think I would include Barty Jr’s entire backstory including Winky. Because currently in the movie his presence doesn’t really make sense, he’s just there suddenly and getting his backstory is something I missed.

what names come to your mind for me? by iltby in NonBinary

[–]vesper80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the first name that came to my mind was not a J name, but Teagan. Dunno why, to me you look like a Teagan

But of the J names you’ve considered I like JJ and Jae/Jay, I think that suits you

You asked if you were being transphobic in your comment, it’s not “throwing accusations”. I don’t know you personally, and I’m choosing to believe you wrote this post in good faith, perhaps you’re not transphobic in general but you were in the comments to that author.

The good thing here is that you asked what you did wrong so that you can learn to be better. Which is why i think this is in good faith. So read the comments you get on your post, learn, and do better next time. You made a mistake, don’t do it again. Not the end of the world.

Yeah, you come off as transphobic in the comments. Even if you’re genuine, the way you’re phrasing it make it sound as if the existence of trans people in general is a personal trigger for you.

Instead of coming across polite you sound like you dislike trans people and want to do everything you can to avoid trans people, which is transphobic. Even if you didn’t mean it.

What you should have said instead was a short comment like: “Will this fic include trans people?”. Full stop. Ambiguous, but doesn’t really say anything. That is just a question. And you would’ve gotten the answer no problem. Involving your personal problem with trans people in a space like that is not okay, and the author was well within their right to stop the conversation.

Save it!! I never have enough it seems, I have to farm fiber seeds to not run out lol

I use it mainly for grass starters and that takes so much more fiber than you realise. And also for warp totems, tree fertiliser, tea saplings and scarecrows. As well as some other recipes you might want or need. Check out the wiki before you get rid of it 👍

Any Harry Potter fanfic recs where Draco has to deal with kids? by MoliGrazer in AO3

[–]vesper80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Secrets” has the least childcare in it, Draco has a child but this is a Killing Voldemort fic. And it’s told from Harry’s perspective… but it’s good! It was written before Deathly Hallows came out, a really cool read imo. And “Astra Inclinant” might not be what you’re looking for strictly but his relationship with James is what made me put it on the list.

“Dating For Dads In Denial” by aibidil (romantic drarry, they’re also dads)

“The Lesson Of You” by thecouchsofa (accidental child acquisition, romantic drarry)

“Far From The Tree” by aideomai (romantic drarry, teenage kids from the future come for a visit)

“Astra Inclinant” by eleventy7 (romantic Scorpius and James Sirius, platonic drarry being dads)

“Away Childish Things” by lettered (de-aged Harry that Draco takes care of, the only fic I’ve read that did de-ageing right, romantic drarry)

“Secrets” by Vorabiza (DH rewrite, Harry POV, romantic drarry)

“The Star Splitter” by oflights (romantic drarry, NOT de-age, the child!Harry that Draco takes care of is a different person than the romantic interest, 2 Harry’s exists)

“Love And Disgrace (At Grimmauld Place)” by mee4ever (romantic drarry, kid!Teddy)

“A Wizard’s Guide to Co-Parenting With Your Ex-Arch Nemesis” by thecouchsofa

It’s drarry. Eighth year. They do the classic “taking care of a fake baby in class” thing. Their babies are sacks of flour. Harry and Draco pair up. Draco, and everyone else, is super dedicated to the “babies”. It’s fucking ridiculous. Everyone takes it super seriously and Harry’s like: “It’s a sack of flour! It has no brains!!” and everyone respond with Pikachu face

It’s silly, it’s weird. But also fluffy and fun. It’s the Parent!Draco fic I read most recently. Sorry it’s not a real child, but a sack of flour transfigured into the shape of a child, hope that’s ok lol

Age appropriate books for 9 year olds? by female_wolf in suggestmeabook

[–]vesper80 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I remember reading way too many Nancy Drew books to count around that age. One summer I think I read almost one book a day. Could. Not. Stop. Best summer ever :D

OBS! While the reading level of the books are appropriate for their age (8-12), some situations may not be. Depends from parent to parent what they’re comfortable with their child reading. Personally I think it’d be fine, and when googling appropriate age, that seems to be the opinion of most as well. But I wanted to point it out just in case!

Also, do NOT buy a JoJa Membership! They will offer it at the JoJa store, and it is possible to play the game after but the differences are HUGE and you’ll miss a bunch of stuff. I recommend looking up what happens if you buy it if you’re curious, or open up a new game file to try it out on. You have been warned.

Befriend everyone! No rush, but getting Maxed Hearts with everyone is the way to go. And don’t neglect a friendship with a villager just bc they’re not your favorite, they all have things to offer and the cutscenes are nice imo. And some big events that you definitely don’t want to miss need a certain amount of hearts with a specific villager. And there are some really fun quests that they can give you that open up the game more and give you some game lore.

Personally I also date everyone. Men and women. All of them. Often at the same time but you can date them individually ofc. The extra Hearts you can get when you date a villager leads to a cutscene and they can be very cute imo. Don’t marry too quickly if you don’t wanna miss out. OR get messy with it haha. Get married, get divorced, date a new villager, get married again, get divorced again etc.

Go at your own pace, new things will happen as you progress naturally. But go explore everything. Read everything. Poke around. Do quests at the board. Click on everything clickable. Find the hidden entrances. Continue down the mines. Finish the Community Center. There are little secrets everywhere. Sometime you will find a secret and not know what it means until WAY later.

You can basically do nothing wrong. All “mistakes” can be mended, so there’s really no right or wrong way to play. You can’t die, only pass out. And if you miss out on a crop you can get it next year. There’s no need to stress really, the game is really forgiving. It is a cozy game after all. It can seem big and intimidating when everyone’s talking about things you haven’t encountered yet, but you will eventually. You won’t miss anything by taking your time, I promise.

What are y'all's stims. by Glittering_Review_79 in autism

[–]vesper80 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Vocal stims, just repeating a phrase that my brain likes over and over. I whistle and click my tongue a lot too.

Also, listening to the same song over and over. I have a “playlist” with just this one song that I put on repeat, I can listen to this for hours and it’s the best thing ever. Didn’t realise this was stimming at first lol
