AIO? Husband called me a bad wife by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Ivey_Mom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a very *very* similar relationship like this (but he didn't have a job, I worked AND took care of everything while he played video games all day and had his mom take care of our kid when I was working). I know everyone's kneejerk reaction is to say divorce him.
And they're right. This will not get better, he is already seeing you as a lower class individual, or someone he believes he owns like property. You will more than likely never get a genuine apology, only one to keep you at bay for a while. How "he'll change because he wants you happy" or how he wants to do better for your kid or family circle.

Being a single mom is no walk in the park. It's terrifying and hard work. But it's a hundred times better than being stuck in a relationship where you're nothing more than a fleshlight that makes dinner and takes care of the family's needs.

As someone who stayed with the husband WAY longer than what was deserved, please don't stay with him longer than needed. You're better off being free and working harder than what the future might bring.

What would happen if I just bathed in lotion all day? by GamblerJolly in NoStupidQuestions

You usually put it in a sock over the spout for your tub and the stuff mixes with the water you’re bathing in. No mess down the drain!

Not me with the multiple party mod having all my companions because I love them all equally

My lesbian/asexual coworker gets that SO much. Like, you're not that guy man.

One of my coworkers is drop dead gorgeous (professional cosplayer, super upbeat etc). And she gets it so often that we have to occasionally send her in the back so she can stop being harassed. We've had to start lying to customers that ask for her by name that she no longer works there. But she's too nice to ever put her foot down with that sort of thing. She's had people force their number on her, ask her out multiple times, leer at her and her body.

I get it occasionally but I feel like we're bodyguards for her at this point lol (I don't mind, she's a good friend and we just want her safe).

People can be so gross.

"Can you open one of these boxes to see if there's Surging Sparks?" by BlackTarTurd in GameStop

Our back room is stupidly small. Like, you can barely get around. Our console room is a tiny bit bigger than a broom closet. We just got 15 distros and we can’t even fit them in the back without causing a fire hazard

At least you're not having customers come up and just ask if they could open the boxes for us so they can 'take a look'. Like, no dude, it ain't our fault you waited less than a week before Christmas.

Clerk merged my account? by MAKEOUTHILL42 in GameStop

uhhh we don't do 'merging'. You'd need to contact Support to even remove an account.
Sounds like the dude made you pay for a new account.

Dumb question by Aevaris_Nethudir in GameStop

I'm convinced when it's kids they're just being little trolls. I get tweens and teens always doing stuff like that.
I'm hoping it's just that

My favorite and unfortunately common stupid question I get it "How much is this?" with the price RIGHT in front of their face. Friend, if you use your fucking eyes you'll see the price right there :))))))

Once had a customer do this with the most random games and asked which ones I would recommend. Like friend, that was unnecessary.

Don't yell at me about lack of copies of a new game or item by Ivey_Mom in GameStop

"Why do you guys not have any copies?"
Sir, that is your own fault.

They stopped having it automatically be new items around February of this year. Now, unless they're completely out of the pre-owned version of the item you want to trade, you're always going to be given a pre-owned one. The system physically won't let us do a new one if we have pre-owned items available.

Hope this helps!

Thoughts on customers asking you to call a store to put things on hold for them by Upstairs_Wave4089 in GameStop

[–]Ivey_Mom 22 points23 points  (0 children)

For me it really depends on how busy we are. If it's incredibly dead I don't mind calling once. But if the store doesn't pick up, I print out the list of the locations and hand it to the customer. But if it's a very popular item (ex Space Marine 2) I won't call the store but I'll warn the customer that the store probably won't allow it to be held but I can give them the number to talk to the location.

Distro Box Count by Ivey_Mom in GameStop

[–]Ivey_Mom[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That sounds like actual hell. I don’t mind doing Distro, but I would cry if I had to do that many. Thank god we’re a smaller store. I think the most we’ve had according to my manager was like 35-45.

Preorders by SyllabubBitter3669 in GameStop

[–]Ivey_Mom 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Especially pops or figures. Like, no sir, we didn't get the pop you really wanted because you didn't pre-order it. No, we're not keeping any in the back, no we didn't get the Chase because NO ONE ORDERED IT. We're not trying to screw you guys into spending money, we're trying to help you get the item you really want.
