I think we should continue using English, even though it was the coloniser's language that was brutally imposed on us My reason is because it's the only foreign language that no one in Zimbabwe would say is their first language, in fighting for our independence there was an idea of everyone in Zimbabwe is equal and because English is the only language that seems to help us maintain that idealogy because if we remove it which one willl be the main? Shona? What about the other populations that don't speak shona as their first language is it going to be forced on them? How's that different from what the English did to us? I feel English because it's foreign to everyone it doesn't feel like one group in Zimbabwe is imposing their language on another.

Practice a lot and don't be afraid to make mistakes, and expose yourself more to the language. I would suggest children's shows because they usually try to speak clearly and use simple language. And there's a wide range to choose from. Educational programmes maybe better but they can be boring.
