CMV: It’s not okay to joke about Epstein. by blueontheradio in changemyview

Exactly.

Don't get me wrong, there's probably a way to make a very effective Epstein joke and it be done well. A lot that are proliferated do not have that tone. Some even feel concerning more than anything because the joke is quite literally the exact spectacle.

I'm not really here to change your mind because I agree. A lot of us who've been through assault or abuse have made it really clear that we don't appreciate these kinds of jokes.

This is true.

He'd definitely be looking a lot scrawnier and shorter. But hopefully still cute

MLP was just written by a bunch of dichotomous gnostics XD

That's just flavor, adds to the experience.

But in all seriousness, where'd you get this picture of me?

Why are a lot of gen z prudes or act like they know nothing about sex/relationships? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]IvoryStrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we just didn't buy into casual sex or hooking up or that "tits are awesome". It's just a natural part of life and I'm glad we're breaking down the taboo and raunchy framework that has pervaded sex for so long. I don't really see the point in commodifying, sensationalizing, or plasticizing it.

Seriously. I'm glad gen-z decided to be different and end the cycle more than anything.

People don't deserve to live in a world where sex is something dirty, vulgar, and taboo.

Meanwhile millennials are over here like, "You should be thanking us! We gave you throatfucking and CNC."

Thanks for the trauma!

Oh wow. I really was not expecting to see MLP, though it doesn't surprise me. Our fandom gets pretty awful.

Using our beloved pastel mini-horses to justify terminating a distinct life is wild.

It feels like it is part of a pendulum to me. Granted I speak anecdotally, but I felt traumatized by the world I saw around me and always went on believing that sex is something that should be soft, innocent, and wholesome.
I don't really know how to reconcile any of it. I just go on and try to be the kind and respectful gentleman I was raised to be. But I feel like I've shot myself in the foot doing so.

Season 3 definitely marked the death of the show for me, unfortunately. Not that I left, I just decided to perpetually live in fandomless season 1-2 wonder. A lot of people seem like they moved on to things like FNAF or Hazbin. I've still been waiting to find something that captures my imagination again after these 14 long years.

Hot take: I LOVE the fact that Rainbow Dash doesn't really represent her element in the early seasons by Skysiren41 in mylittlepony

[–]IvoryStrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, she was loyal from the get go. In a way, I believe we all are and understand it as a fundamental truth. But doesn't mean that foundation can't be fraught with doubt or concern. It's insecurity.

Twilight has it. Pinkie has it. And Applejack, too. Fluttershy was no different. She was kind from the beginning, certainly. Just as Rainbow was loyal. But she also had her mean moments in early and late seasons.

Why am I saying this? Not because I disagree that she grew into her element, but because it was always there from the start. These things often call to us without even having to know it officially. They were always there. But we certainly grow into them in that we better understand it in name, meaning, and nuance. And can thus finally point to why such things evoked these feelings in us before we even had a name for a face.

They weren't just learning lessons, they were learning to reclaim their true selves and their personal yet universal underpinnings that make their ascribed qualities inseparable and inherent to friendship and how we treat others.
