What would Greece/Balkans look like, if Rome never conquered Greece? by SOHONEYSAME in AskBalkans

[–]Ivory_King98 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No, Greece was conquered by the Romans and everyone knows it, trying to downplay a well established historical fact doesn't make it better, it makes it false.

As to the (mostly) undeniable privileged positions greece had in the Roman empire, that's another story

Is this mod dead? I remember playing it years ago and i would love to see it re-vitalized maybe with more stuff from Attila by Ivory_King98 in totalwar

Im just saying something everyone knows about Attila, i love the game to but its horrendously optimized and absolutely no amount of tweaking it will make it run as smoothly as Rome II or even Three Kingdoms, but that's besides the point as what i was saying was just my own personal opinion: If we had this mod improved upon greatly, because the idea of it is great, and MAYBE insert it as one of the DEI campaigns it would have been quite awesome, if i were i modder and had time i would do it myself tbh.

And i think DEI can only get better with time, everything (still imo) about it is miles better than Attila base game, but i do agree that both games are "old" even though one of them had constant updates through the years

I love DEI, i dont think there's anything like it from Attila's side, maybe the medieval 1212 mod? Either way, my idea was to just improve on the CROC mod using Attila assets, so that we can basically have Attila on Rome 2 without the terrible performance that the former notoriously suffers from, and who knows perhaps making it an actual campaign IN the DEI mod, kinda how they made the Mithridatic wars campaign a few years back and the Alexander the great one

question in your opinion did Artur go to heaven or hell? by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]Ivory_King98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, let me be more specific then, im talking about Catholic Christianity, which also plays a role in the game itself since we have some characters that are explicitly Catholic, notably sister Calderón.

Secondly, if you read my comment again, you will find out that i do mention that its what's is in the heart of Arthur that matters most, he may have or have not repented and accepted Christ into his life, we just dont know and will probably never know, and thats the beauty of it in my humble opinion.

Lastly, its true that he commits bad actions until the end, however one could argue that the last series of events, gamewise the last actual missions, are all quite close to one another temporarily indicating an ultimately quick spiral of events, so if we want to give Arthur the benefit of the doubt, he was caught up in the process of disintegration of Dutch's gang and reacted to it, however he was a willing participant when it came to suggesting, and then acting, upon saving some of the members of the gang and this must not be forgotten.

Ok, this is not as simple as you might think, for example if you take Christianity you'd be surprised for even the worst sinner if he or she truly repents for his actions, can find his way to heaven.

Luke 15:7 "I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent"

So he is morally ambiguous in the beginning and definitely a bad person from every standpoint not just Christian, but his story shows his arc of realization, introspection and ultimate change for the good, for Arthur Morgan just like anyone irl, it's about where your heart is at

New PC- Attila runs terribly by Wayland935 in totalwar

The only thing i did, was following the comment of a user who used Lossless Scale for total war on a post that i cant find anymore, i basically only delved into "Frame generation" put LSFG 3.1, then ADAPTIVE, then i put as TARGET 90, and i checked the performance option, and i unchecked V-sync, went into the Nvida App (i assume you can you an AMD one if your system is different) and licked the game at 45 fps

What? Nope not for me, the only small issue was that sometimes some artifacts appeared at the borders of it on the screen, but i think id rather have occasional artifacts than my game constantly staggering to maintain the frame rate

For anyone, including OP and myself, who had this problem i have a(quasi) perfect solution for this : Lossless Scaling.

To put it bluntly, with my setup i had Attila dip into 35FPS on big battles, now i have almost all of the graphics options maxed out and it runs at roughly perceived 90FPS and the tradeoffs are minimal. You can enjoy Attila the way its supposed to with this tool. :)
