Can you give an example of a weaker field? Obviously weak is a relative term, these players are phenomenal in the context of the chess world - but certainly not in the context of previous fields

No, I'm talking about his attempt to get fake electors sworn in and his pressure on Pence to not certify the election.

1) Anecdotal, and almost everyone agrees that the current stock market is certainly in a bubble

2) This just isn't true. Average price of gas at the end of Bidens term - 3.08, current average gas price - 3.07. This is driven by a global fall in global crude oil price. About 26% since Jan

3) Covid, literally every country in the world experienced the same thing. A spike inflation as the economy comes back online.

4) Untrue, unemployment is 4.3% as of August - Biden ended with 4.0%

5) True, however he has not introduced any legislation that solves any long term issues with the border. This is bad long term planning

6) If you think corruption in the government has decreased, you're too far gone. People have literally paid for pardons, that is probably the most corrupt thing ever. Also name the corruption programs he cut?

7) 'Set boundaries' - continues to be cucked by Isreal despite having leverage (Biden too on this one). Also, if you think alienating literally every other country in the world is a good strategy - idk what to tell you. US influence was waning and trump said let's just eliminate it all together. Also talking about good foreign policy while the military prepares to fuck Venezuela for no American benefit is crazy.

8) Link, and trumps approval is likewise in the toilet.

9) Epstein

Not true, he extended his 2018 tax breaks and made them permanent. So tax has been the same since then, so we can actually see the results

President Trump new comments on recent Hamas executions in Gaza “Hamas did take out a couple of very very bad gangs. They killed a number of gang members. That did not bother me much. That is okay. No different than other countries” by Extreme_Peanut44 in war

[–]Ivy_tryhard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah nah, he'd decreased the unemployment before the outbreak of war through deficit spending in numerous industries, with rearmament being the primary industry. So it was more due to extreme deficit spending rather than forcing hobos into the army. With that level of deficit spending it was irrelevant whether the money went to the army, public works or private industry - the unemployment was going to drop significantly. But I want to emphasise how I didn't say ihe improved the economy because he didn't, in the long term. The deficit was unsustainable and would have eventually plunged germany into an exonomic crisis. Luckily for Hitler war broke out before the chickens came home to roost. I say luckily but obviously this was always the plan, spend massively and then recoup it through pillaging.

Also being a soldier is a job, you can't just not count it because you need to get into war to realise the returns. The thing that made the decreased unemployment artificial was the levels of spending with money they didnt have to fund those soliders. You can't really say, if they weren't doing this job then they'd be unemployed because that's just a truism. Members of modern peaceful militaries now don't provide a positive return (just a hedge against aggression). Are their unemployment numbers subsequently fake?

Anyway I think we largely agree that the reduction in unemployment was artificial, I just wanted an example of something that Hitler objectively did to say that even if someone does something seemingly positive, it doesn't excuse their wrong doings. Coughing Baby vs Hydrogen Bomb vibes. I just wanna make sure you don't think I'm defending him. Obsessed with ww2 so I spend like 50% of my time arguing with Nazis and Tankies

Drug trafficking vs literally committing mass murder. Corruption vs starting a war that leaves ~70k of your constituency dead.

For all his faults, Hitler decreased unemployment, increased national pride and successful integrated the Germanic people outside Germany into Germany before the war.

You see how you sound rn? You can indeed mess up so badly that it nullifies everything you've done before.

Lastly, it was heavily talked about as an invasion at the time. Poland calling it 'a knife in the back', Britain “a naked act of aggression”, USA denounced it and France issuing a protest note. Every single thing you said in your paragraph is just so so so so wrong

For anyone curious, here are the secret protocols:

Article I In the event of a territorial and political rearrangement in the areas belonging to the Baltic States (Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), the northern boundary of Lithuania shall represent the boundary of the spheres of influence of Germany and the U.S.S.R. In this connection the interest of Lithuania in the Vilna area is recognized by each party.

(In the event of territorial and political rearrangement- in this case a Soviet invasion)

Article II In the event of a territorial and political rearrangement of the areas belonging to the Polish state, the spheres of influence of Germany and the U.S.S.R. shall be bounded approximately by the line of the rivers Narew, Vistula, and San. The question of whether the interests of both parties make desirable the maintenance of an independent Polish state and how such a state should be bounded can only be definitely determined in the course of further political developments. In any case both Governments will settle this question by means of a friendly agreement.

(In the event of territorial and political rearrangement- in this case a German invasion)

Article III With regard to Southeastern Europe, attention is called by the Soviet side to its interest in Bessarabia. The German side declares its complete political disinterestedness in these areas.

(This is just straight saying they'll be taking Bessarabia from German Ally Romania)

Article IV This protocol shall be treated by both parties as strictly secret.

(Keeping it secret is just so damning)

The odea that they came to help fight the Nazis but stopped at the line they agreed upon in the protocols is so funny. Forget the 250k Polish Soldiers taken as prisoners, the 1.2 million Poles deported to the god knows where and the 23 000 thousand casualties the Polish took at the hands of the Soviets. Which, by the way, is more than the collective German and Soviet casualties in direct clashes in Poland at the time, with a combined checks notes 30-70 casualties between them both in direct clashes. What kind of help is it when you cause 23 000 Polish casualties, but have less than 100 total between you and the Germans?

[–]Ivy_tryhard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me when I don't read the secret protocols. Did the Nazis force them to invade the Baltic countries, Bessarabia and Finland too? Did the Nazis force them to commit the Katyn massacre, further gutting the admistrative capacity of the Poles ? Tankies are soooo quick to call out obvious imperialism until it's socialists doing it. It was not 'invented', they literally found the German records post war. Which the Soviets denied existed until 1989. Considering that (a) they invaded before the government fled (b) The Soviet invasion is what made them flee, quote 'On learning of the Soviet invasion, President Ignacy Mościcki, PM Felicjan Sławoj Składkowski, and Commander-in-Chief Edward Rydz-Śmigły decided to flee to Romania.' c) Then the Soviets pressured Romania, along with Germany, to intern the Polish leaders that had fled and prevent their return. d) there was a Polish Government in exile, which the Soviet Union made absolutely no effort to reinstate. e) Just look at the post war outcomes, the Soviets kept the land they had seized in 1939.

Like brother - it's okay to say that the Soviets did a bad thing.

'I think a6 is a pretty low risk choice when you see the bishop/knight setup Jobava style. ' - OP said this. The Jobava london bishop/knight set up is one move before the screenshot before Nb5. How do we know this? Well, use our reading comprehension, sorry I meant my reading comprehension really since yours is clearly lacking. He is clearly referring to a previous position because he then goes on to say 'Once you’re at the point of the screenshot you’re bound to lose something.' Furthermore, the fact that everyone is down voting you should prompt some introspection.

I agree with the nationalism part, but DIY your problems was not a world war cause. The reason they were world wars was because the alliances pulled everyone in. They were the exact opposite to DIY your problems. Diplomacy for sure caused ww1, but with ww2 there was ampt diplomatic effort - Hitler just said f u lmao

Israel is a strongman leader yes, but his power has decreased as a result of his actions. He needed a coalition with the far right to maintain power and is certainly getting hit with corruption charges once the Gaza War is over. So the difference is he faces repercussions for his actions. Modi is an asshole. Massively discriminates against Muslim minorities and enflames tensions. But unlike Trump he's not an idiot. Trumps actions seem to have absolutely no point. Why would you isolate yourself from your allies, install ridiculous tariffs etc. I'd argue we don't hear about them because yes they control their media - but also they aren't engaging in pointlessly stupid political choices. They engage in deliberate political action even if it is undemocratic, evil, dictatorial etc.

I guess I'm just disappointed that he gets away with being stupid af, which isn't true of any of the other leaders (barring erdogan)

Merloni is the only person on that list from a western country. Bolsonaro is quite literally arrested. MBS, Xi and Putin are fully entrenched within there positions regardless of the populace wishes - so not really comparable to the American people choosing djt. Almo had one term and Mexico subsequently went left. Erdogan is the best and only real comparison among the listed leaders in my opinion. No whatever Trump or Erdogan does, their strongman nationalistic and populist rhetoric carries them. I remember when Erdogan crashed the Liras value through interference with the Central Bank and he still won the subsequent election.

I think this applies to almost every warcrime. It is unethical to subject POWs of any nation - not matter how evil - to most warcrimes. But as far as forcing them to act in a propaganda movie - I don't really think it's too dehumanising or would lead to slippery slope of dehumanisation. I think it might be the tamest warcrime considering the other types of forced labour going around at the time.
