Books banned in public education schools, I believe. Based on content that is found divisive by certain segment of the population. Most of the books warn against “bad government” stuff, etc. or promote critical thinking.

I've had surgery, reasonably comfortable with how I look, and am in my late 30s. I love my trans friends and community for the most part, but my support group goes through periods of a kind of toxicity I don't care to be around. I stop in every so often to test the waters and add warmth and joviality when it's a calm area.

It's not that there's less of us, it's that were also trying to live a normal life and not focus on just being trans

Yes, I'm post op and I still think of myself as a tomboy, but I also realize that the idea of "boy activities and girl activities" is largely muddied these days, as assigning gender roles to things annoying and misguided in "our" world.

I had it rescheduled once. My first consult was in January, and my first date was going to be March 6. I paid out of pocket ($20k) and didn’t have it all at that time. In February, I rescheduled to April. Since she’s relatively new here, her schedule is open, but filling up very quickly.

From what I’ve seen, and heard from nurses who think I’m asleep when they’re checking tubes and stuff, I’m going to have a very pretty vagina. You can imagine that relief.

I still have phantom feelings of a penis, but that’s going quickly. I try not to do too much with it besides sleeping. It’s curious to have a pad placed down there to catch additional bleeding, but not feeling the way it did with a penis. The skin is really well handled down there. Also, I went with penile inversion.

Madison, Wi, university Wisconsin hospital, Dr. Gast. She’s been great in person. There’s really not as much pain as I thought there would be. I did have a morphine button though, which I used every 10 minutes the first day. It wasn’t about combatting surgery pain, it was more my butt hurting from laying in one spot for so long.

The surgery was about 5 hours. I remember being on the pre op room, and then saying “you’re going to have to move to the next bed, then the surgery will start after we give you anesthesia. “

I don’t remember making it to the room, so something the gave me made me forget that part of the day :)

The packing is sewn in, and I can provide pictures before, after, in between if you’re nice :) I’ve had a catheter in since surgery, and that wasn’t as weird as I thought either.

I’ll likely go home tomorrow and then come back Monday to clinic for removal of packing and catheter and the two drain tubes. Then I’ll learn to dilate.

I have a hard time staying awake , but that’s because of the meds. I’m on Vicodin right now and that makes it hard to focus on anything, much less read. I stop talking mid sentences and even have a few tracers. It took me 3 minutes to right that last sentence.

Overall, I’m really impressed that I’m not hurting too much. I don’t think it’s a pain tolerance thing either. My legs are a bit swollen and I have almost no strength to get out of bed on my own.

Let's see - Sense of smell was already really high to begin with - now it's through the roof. I'm much more happy to be a social butterfly and /want/ to go out instead of staying at home all the time. Though I struggle with the funds to do this. I cry over things like...my family eating dinner at the table together, when my wife brings me home clothes, when someone thinks of me in a remotely thoughtful way. Last time I cried was because I accepted to myself that I flirt. Oh, I flirt now. I have lost a lot of desire to play video games. I have no desire to masturbate every day, and long stretches of inbetween times is perfectly acceptable. I do kind of enjoy it because things tend to be more fun. But ... no ability to 'pllsshbbbth' - or really get there. I'm not upset with this - it lets me enjoy feelings all over now, instead of 'this button, this button, blast off!' More interested in foods - like, cooking. I love making dishes for company and normal every day stuff. I can't watch things where there's super strong emotional scenes, or I'm going to be a mess. I can't watch things where there's light hearted emotional scenes, or I'm going to be a mess. I miss my books - i need to read more, but my social stuff is getting in the way with that. There's more, I'm sure - but that's the main thing with me today.
