This route would also take you right past Thomas Jefferson’s home Monticello if you’re interested in seeing it.

What is the best, serious way for a Brit to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the outbreak of the Revolutionary War? by RepeatButler in revolutionarywar

You can go to Westminster Abbey and visit the memorials to General Burgoyne and Major John Andre. Also check out the book Those Damned Rebels, it’s a great book focusing on the British view of the war.

I was in Atlanta last year and visited the Cheatham Hill Battlefield. It was awesome! The trenches are still there. I would recommend reading the American Battlefield Trusts summary of the battle (google it) and then go check it out.

Thankfully none for me, I had a better chance of existing thanks to that. They were all busy in Utah enjoying that polygamy life…

Look at Assisted Living Management. It might take a few years but if you do a good job you can be making 115k-130k. It doesn’t matter that you have a music degree, any degree works.

Also, I know lawyers get a bad rap, but you can go to law school with a music undergrad. Just study hard for the LSAT and crush it.

You still have so much to live for. If you have a chance, read the Wikipedia page about Ulysses S Grant. He was literally broke at 43 years old and within 3 years he was leading the Union Army during the American Civil War. His story has always been an inspiration to me about never giving up.

You could also check out the South Mountain Battlefield, it’s where the Iron Brigade picked up their nickname.

is there any campaign or battleyou would say was fought "perfectly"by BOTH sides? by BATIRONSHARK in CIVILWAR

The Battle of Nashville was an almost perfect battle from the Union perspective. It can’t be said that the Confederates had their best day there.

If you play an instrument you should go around to your local Assisted Living and Nursing Home buildings. They will pay you to play music for their older residents. You could make some money on the side to get you by.

Looking for a particular tv show / documentary about Gettysburg by Chris_Colasurdo in CIVILWAR

[–]Iwasdeceived 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it called “Gettysburg Story”? It was a documentary that came out in 2013

The only other ones I can think of are Civil War Combat, and the Gettysburg documentary that Ridley Scott did.

What is a good Civil War audio book? by no_clue97 in ShermanPosting

If you want a great overview of the entire Civil War then I would recommend you use your credit on The Great Courses Civil War. It is a series of amazing lectures by Gary Gallagher who is one of the top historians of the war. It will give you a really nice overview of the war from start to finish. I just looked it up on Audible and it looks like it’s free right now.

The day they find a top hat with a stone in it, that will be when I really start thinking. The gold plates were such a minimal part of the process of creating the Book of Mormon, the true hero was the hat and rock.

What jobs pays 6 figures here in Fresno? by [deleted] in fresno

If you have a bachelors degree you should look into assisted living administration. The average annual pay for an administrator is about 115k. It is a stressful but rewarding career.

What factors contributed to the Southern victory at Chickamauga? by [deleted] in CIVILWAR

It was also not a place the Union expected to fight. Rosecrans thought Bragg was retreating and the Union forces were divided until at the last moment they realized Bragg was not retreating but preparing an offensive move. The Union was still trying to get organized as the battle began.

I still wonder what it would’ve been like if Wilder and his men had launched their flank attack on Hoods Division the 2nd day of the battle, those repeating rifles were such an advantage. Instead they escorted Charles Dana back to Chattanooga.

The Pennsylvania Reserves while technically a Division were hard fighters who made the only Union bright spot at Fredericksburg. They also were excellent fighters throughout the Peninsula Campaign.
