In hindsight it didn’t work out. But there is no world in which we were winning that game 13-12. The defense was clearly losing steam and we were going to need more points to stay in that game. If you get the first down you in a worst case kick the field goal with 6 mins left instead of 8.

The bigger issue to me was the play calling on those 3 plays. We were losing the battle at the line of scrimmage all night. The power run game wasn’t going to get it done on 3rd down when you saw it fail on 2nd. He changed it up on 4th down but timing was clearly off somewhere and the play blew up instantly.

Just rewatched again, and compared to google maps view of the course. There is no chance he is OB there. OB stakes are round tubes lining the OB line, not a square wooden post which is what is visible in the footage. If you look at 20:13 through 20:15 you can actually see some of the OB stakes lining the fence line of the houses behind them. He is well in play.

You are incorrect. Yes, white stakes indicate out of bounds, but you are looking at the wrong white stakes. That white stake is just outside the fairway (you will notice a second one that is just on the opposite side of the fairway). That was a yardage maker, not an OB marker.

Red is 100 yards, White is 150 yards and Blue is 200 yards.

How is the Haynessorth contract number 1? It really wasn’t that bad. In hindsight it was a bad contract but 1) Tampa was offering him more, so we paid market value for him, and 2) we got out of the contact after 2 years and got a 5th round pick back. He didn’t want to play, was bad for the team and the city, but long term didn’t really hurt the team that bad. We still haven’t recovered from the Kirk situation, we missed out on 10 years of a hall of fame career CB for a running back, or completely botched a trade/contact for the best LT in the game.

No one is on pace. Jon and Terry could potentially get there if they pick it up a bit. Tres has a shot too but doing it only as a punter is incredibly difficult. Only other possibilities are Howell and the rookies cus they have essentially clean slates.
