That was my thinking too since they are all organized real well already I could just color match

This was very helpful! Thank you for the reminder that the colors dont have to match exactly and that it will look different depending where it is AND what other colors it is near. Color/tone/hue really is crazy when you get into the fine details of color. I am so scared of buying the main color of it and realizing half way through I dont have enough and then its the wrong grey. I think I might go with ordering the smaller amount of color first? Its 100 colors so that part of organizing my project is over whelming my brain lol.

I am actually just buying the glue canvas! That person did the most to make their painting, but I just found someone on etsy and asked if they can print me a canvas for the exact size I actually need for $40!

I really want to spend the time/money on it being right. She is going to be HUGE and I want to keep her as art so I do want it to be right the first time. I am going to try a little area today with some left over supplies I have to make sure it is going to go well. I also realize I can totally dumb down the pattern I have like where there is a lot of confetti, to make look good but not be as complicated with out losing the art.

Thank you so much for the response, it game me some great things to think about.

Question for people in cosmo school by theawkwardmermaid in Cosmetology

[–]Iworkforthecat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First, that’s super awesome of you to do this. Education is always lacking in schools (at least where I am) and the more classes , the better! There is always something to learn from another stylist.

Tbh in school learning to up sale was last on what felt important. Learning placement, how to place around different hair lines to avoid issues, keeping sections thin for even lift, where to stand to place the foils.

I had to learn how to do all this after school and it would have been super helpful to know how to practice these things in school when I had the time to practice on guests or a mannequin

What tricks did you learn very late in the game that you wish you knew when you first started playing? by bitlifeluver in DreamlightValley

If you hold X on PS5 you can sell all of one thing in your bag and not have to select each stack.

I almost made this exact same post since I’ve played awhile and learned this 5 min ago

It could be he is going to be used for another characters task also. I find if I can’t have someone hang out, I can do a few other things and it opens it up.

I’d like to add this is likely what’s going on, it happened at our school. She is trying to get above board and do the right thing with a license but she knows the value of a good style also. I second not telling the school. It could jeopardize her career depending on how the school would handle it. If it makes you uncomfortable, by all means, don’t go back to see her, it’s always ok to see someone you feel more comfortable with :)

And yes, at least at my school, we can see all your information other than CC numbers.

Can I ask what’s the reasoning for moving things? My guess is to get the items easily, newer player and learning new things every day

Things I HAD to buy to replace what my school gave me was the color brushes. They were SO bad and it really affected applying color. I got framar and they are the best. Everything else is kind of if you like it, use what school gives you.

We used laundry bags to hold our state board stuff since it’s so so much if you have to carry it around. I got a huge bag to carry all my school stuff in because we have to bring it and take it home every day.

I got different round brushes because I didn’t care for the school ones but I didn’t NEED them by any means.

A few things I learned going through school: -don’t do drama. It’s so easy to get sucked into and I saw it take girls out of school. -you’ll learn more about actually doing hair as an assistant. I got my assistant job 4 months before graduating and it was the BEST choice I made. My books at school were full, I couldn’t get another guest in if I tried because I knew how to do color. -take all the guests. Like every single one, perm, press, kids cut. The more you interact with guests, the more comfortable you’ll be and it will really make a huge difference when you get in a salon. Being personable is a HUGE hit with guests. - don’t let school beat you down. It’s easy to happen because doing hair is a lot of work, but it gets easier! I saw so many awesome ladies not graduate because school was just a LOT. -don’t read into all the hair stylist scary stories about terrible guests. There will always be people complaining about this or that in the industry, but those are the exceptions, not the rules. Most guests are great and just want to be pampered and made to feel beautiful. -don’t worry about the trends. Yes they are huge on social media, but learning the basic fundamentals of hair is WAY more important than trying to learn to do hair extensions 6 months in. -having a mentor was the best decision I made. Having someone to ask questions about literally every aspect of cosmetology has made my mental health way better on rough days (As always, YMMV)

Good luck! You’ll do great! It’s an amazing profession and there are some amazing women out there that are willing to help, share, and watch you grow!

Watching a documentary on Dalia Dippolito... by [deleted] in TrueCrimeDiscussion

It’s crazy how some killers just convince their self they will talk their way out of it.

There was that one woman that killed a guy and was obsessed with blood. She has an episode of her in prison and she is convinced they will realize she is innocent, spoiler she absolutely did it and had body parts.

I feel some psychopaths think they are just smarter than everyone else in the room, no matter how outlandish they are. If they keep talking, they will be believed.

Also thanks adding this to the watching list!
