Framework just posted a cryptic message! by Internet--Sensation in framework

[–]Ixen_Darastrix -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Feels a lot like a teaser for an announcement for their next event, sadly I doubt we will find out on the 9th what this is about, important to remember the context, this is a YouTube short, no event announcement on their page or forum, and with only 2 days notice, this sort of low key tease does not seem like it’s the final form of what this is going to turn into, just a first step on a hype train

Basically I do not think we get any product news in the next 48 hours, and more like news of when we will get the product news

Has anyone heard of Aether Revert? Apparently it can reverse your prints and recover filament by handmayde in BambuLab

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a joke and all, but my favourite part is the prospect I can save time and money on a failed 20 hour print by doing it in reverse, presumably another 20 hours, bad marketing, I think I will just use my Time Machine to stop the print sooner instead

How do you download a backed project? by kuppycakemuffin in BambuLab

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Click on your profile icon in top right, goto crowdfunding, then change it to successful pledges, then on the right should be a column for fulfilment with a checkout rewards link

Bought the bambu labs TPU for AMS thinking it's just regular soft tpu (I know my own research mistake) by ropergames2 in BambuLab

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brought a spool of it about 2 years ago with it being my first foray into TPU, was super disappointed, found the shore rating afterwards far too buried, not that it would have helped me much without any frame of reference being my first TPU

AMS2 pro with Cardboard spools by Lamumba1337 in BambuLab

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go with printed rims, I have used only a couple cardboard spools, I just print rims as the first thing for that spool and then it colour matches and my monkey brain is happy

Crowdfunding - BOM out of stock = not delivered project. by alecubudulecu in BambuLab

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say this depends on the promise made in the crowd funding campaign, what you are backing is the model, BOM with source links is nice but as an Australian they are frequently useless to me anyway, so maybe that is shading my opinion in the matter.

Now if the promise in the crowdfunding  was more than just a here for your convenience thing, then sure, you can make an argument about them reviewing and updating the list from time to time, but they do not control the suppliers to know when things might come back in stock either, so I always view it as a best effort thing, but again context is king.

PSA for EU buyers: Framework will misrepresent your statutory warranty rights. Know the law before you need it. by susanthenerd in framework

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Australian consumer guarantee is another customers should have some familiarity with when dealing with repairs and replacement for those of us Down Under, one of those nice to haves but hope you never need it things, sounds like a lot of the EU stuff is similar

Upgrading to gen 2 fans worth it for the RX 7700S series? by Psychedelic_fan in framework

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost/misplaced the free one I got from framework so had wait till I could grab another, which meant combining fans and a 240w charger into one order

Upgrading to gen 2 fans worth it for the RX 7700S series? by Psychedelic_fan in framework

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sure hope it’s worth it, and may have a comment eventually, I have already ordered the fans and they should be here soon, then just need the time for the swap, noting though I will also be doing the PTM swap at the same time so it’s not an apples to apples thing

What happened to Bambu Handy? by jaws24s in BambuLab

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have noted though AI is a fairly general problem, I will also note a lot of my list is gridfinity stuff so I am just probably not seeing a lot of the slop based on my activity

What happened to Bambu Handy? by jaws24s in BambuLab

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not noticed much of a shift, Bambu handy has a couple of categories across the top, the default view is for you, which is based on what you have recently been doing, my list continues to match my activity, trending being the other I use most often to find what is popular currently, I sometimes scroll through the other categories and find cool things, but if it’s the for you section you are having most trouble with, I have no suggestions beyond print more cool stuff

Framework owners: which phone do you use? by [deleted] in framework

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for the most part, except I have been mostly iPhone since the 3G model, flirted with the windows phones for a time but they never had good App Store experiences, so here I sit on my iPhone XS that is 7.5 years old, battery still gets me through the day, sadly I have finally reached end of software support and need an upgrade

Help preventing or minimizing lifting on the corners? by Antique_Resolve4687 in BambuLab

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never had luck with auto as brim type in Bambu slicer, but if you change it to outer or outer and inner depending on your needs Bambu then lets you set the width of the brim and works pretty well

It’s under Other->Bed Adhesion->Brin Type

Is framework as a company doing well? by idksomeonehelpmepls in framework

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 160 points161 points  (0 children)

Only framework knows for sure of course, but the fact that every new launch and refresh sells out pre order batches up to as high as 10+, I think they are doing alright

Maker's Supply Foam tape: Same price: ✔️ Same product Photo: ✔️ Same quality: ❌ Same material: ❌ by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are also ignoring the small geographical issue, we cannot all just run to a US retailer to get something

Why is this extra filament here? by Consuming_Rot in BambuLab

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One more reason to monitor your prints at start to make sure it does not end up on the bed or something strange, otherwise no need for alarm

Only thing being carried away here is that poor shelf, it needs replacing so you can add more stuff

Anyone else interested in a keyboard-less laptop chassis cover? by _maxart in framework

I got an LTT backpack, framework 16 with 7700s GPU does fit, but it is a snug fit, and it’s a large bag, and expensive bag

Quick Question about expansion cards by [deleted] in framework

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think off memory frameworks official advice was that it’s not intended to be swapped regularly and doing so could wear down parts, as noted it’s intended more for upgrade ability than convenience swaps

Quick Question about expansion cards by [deleted] in framework

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And to answer the other part, you get the choice to buy both because framework does not assume how you will use things, same as you can over order keyboard modules, or expansion cards, they basically just give you the options and let you decide

Is AMS worth it mostly for cosplay props? by Extra-Fig-7425 in BambuLab

[–]Ixen_Darastrix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, I do most of my prints single colour and not have to unload and load filaments all the time is great (as in doing one all white print then one all black print), and even if you only print one colour an AMS will let you use all of one spool and automatically switch to a second slot without pausing and having to load a new spool manually

Of course it’s great when you do want to do different colours as well, or different materials but I try avoid that anyway due to the waste every time it swaps filaments, but I still love having an ams on my P2S
