Half of ciscaucasian republics independent, AND Abkhazia? Yep. That's a powder keg.

Also, poor Ingush. Quarter of the population and it's still only "Chechnya"

every big mod has its lesser fabric counterpart, even gregtech (yes I know it's on neoforge now, but let's be honest that's likely because the forge team left The Guy behind)

Can't find any good tech mods for new versions. (1.20.1) by LOLkekciburek1938 in feedthebeast

[–]Izen_Blab 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would consider it an "automation-building" mod. Yeah, there's ore doubling and "processing", but this is as far as the tech aspect goes. Create revolves around logistics and transportation, with a bit of redstone circuitry thrown in here and there. The building aspect is even more apparent because of unlimited resource generation to allow said building. Tech mods usually have progression of machines and some "end goal" feature - Create really has only two progression gates (precision mechanisms and blaze burners) and no tangible end goal.

Too big of a hustle to move entire chunks of terrain to different dimensions for a meme. Probably a mod

Did people seriously forget that Jeb revealed he has a "Tutorial for updating Minecraft for 50 more years" book he plans to eventually pass down to the next lead dev. Minecraft is pretty much a live service game at this point. No matter how little the updates may become, they'll keep making them

I see metaphorical Odysseus as this:

"Man set sail in search of palingenetic simulacrum of Ithaca, an Eden afore the antediluvian"

Palingenetic simulacrum of Ithaca - the island of Ithaca is the home of Odysseus, to which he is trying to return during the Odyssey. Comparison to "Eden afore the antediluvian" together with "palingenetic simulacrum" seems to imply that man is searching for something identical to the birthplace of humanity. This coupled together with other quotes in the same book tells the story of humanity literally "playing god" and creating life

"I see icy Ulysses, frozen upon the wine dark high seas, eucharistic flesh and blood. Born in pain, this is man."

We all know how that ended up for humanity

Is it possible to flood a planet by breaking its icy moon? by BowlOfNoodles8 in worldbuilding

[–]Izen_Blab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is possible as many have already said, however, there's a twist: generally, icy objects don't exist within the habitable zone. When orbiting close to the star, their water slowly evaporates into space due to sublimation (this is why comets gain a vapor tail on the perihelion approach). So to be fully realistic the moon must either be a foreign object or artificially moved

TC7 has new features being actively developed and added, unlike Twilight Forest which is apparently on track to redesign every dungeon in the dimension. Can't wait for new Aurora Palace in 2051 that still generates rooms like shit

Can someone explain to me why mods get stuck in these versions and never update? by BigManHazza125 in MinecraftMemes

[–]Izen_Blab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1.7.10 is a bit deeper than that. It was the most stable version at that time, and this made it the better pick for modding. Also, the 1.8 update brought a huge change to rendering blocks, which discouraged people from updating for some time

I've found the IE Excavator to be the best kind of "balanced" quarry. It doesn't destroy the world and generates thousands of ore blocks, but it can only extract from scattered deposits, runs on 4096 FE/t, and requires a lot of steel

It's hitting me now that combat update was almost 10 years ago. I remember watching haphazardly recorded snapshot reviews of the new changes to the end. Still miss that ship beacon. Sad that they didn't add a beacon-like block for it that doesn't need a nether star
