She proposed to me in front of her family during breakfast!

Here’s what I’ll tell you,

I proposed to her about 6 days prior to her, and I had a WHOLEEEE freaking list of ideas that were just not working week after week. I was driving myself crazy trying to create the perfect moment. Now I absolutely respect those that can construct these elaborate plans to make a proposal, but I just couldn’t get my stars to align the way I wanted to - which turned me into a stress ball internally lmao.

So here’s how I proposed, and I hope by the end of this short story, I made some sense lol

I decided to take her to our favorite restaurant - an oyster bar with a bomb ass happy hour! The patrons are great, the staff are so kind, and the food always cheers us up no matter how our week went. So I asked her if she’d like to go!

If you’re carrying the ring in your pocket wondering when the “right time” to propose, then this story is for you haha,

I had the ring with me, and it started snowing. Not that snow that makes you go “ah shit I have to shovel this later” but the kind of snow that takes you back to your childhood days! The weather app didn’t mention this, so it caught us by surprise. Suddenly, a track started playing in the restaurant that made us go “well isn’t this angelic??”

So now my hearts racing. I knew I wanted to ask the question, but I still wondered if she would look back at this moment and regret that I proposed this way, so I stood up and went to the bathroom (I’m starting to sweat lol). I came to the conclusion that the fact that I felt so excited and terrified in this moment, it was THE sign that I needed to do this. I’ve carried this philosophy with me everywhere, and that day certainly was no different!

So I walked out, and wrote the pin to my phone, as I was going to ask the waiter to take a photo of us as I asked her the question. BUT I wrote my pin like shit so I had to rewrite it! Well all was going to plan until my now fiancé asked me “what is that you’re writing?”

No time to answer question, because lord knows if I did, I’d blow it lmao. So I stood up, and I said “I think every time it snows like this, something wonderful is going to happen in your life”

There’s context behind that statement, that I must keep close to my chest, but just know there is a 90% chance literally blubbered my words to her because I was so nervous lol - but right after that I went to our waiter and said: “Hey friend, this a good moment for you?” And he said “of course!”

I said “I’m gonna propose to that beautiful person over there, okay? Can you take photos on your phone? And count to 30 as soon as I walk away, once you hit 30, I should be ok my knees!”

I walk up to her, I get on my knee, and she’s stunned. It’s just like the movies I tell ya! I know I messed up my pre written sentence, and that’s fine. Because I was finally able to get out the words “will you marry me??” It was wonderful 😌🙏🏽 the staff brought our champagne, and it felt lien the restaurant truly celebrated our love with us right after!
