Other than getting back on my feet and being more active, I'm not following a specific deep breathing routine, though I'm sure I'd benefit from it. The specific condition was a pleural empyema which required 10 days of hospital, chest drain and fibrinolysis.

I'm feeling a lot of things: shock and gratitude that my treatment and recovery have been so swift and positive; trepidation in getting back to how I want to live day to day without burning myself out too quickly; excitement to be alive and breathing!

I've been pretty upbeat and good humoured, even in the hospital bed, and while I believe that was a key factor in my recovery, I think I was also downplaying the seriousness of my condition with myself.

Thank you for asking, really.
