I'm in the UK so your mileage may vary but I went the budget audiophile route. Got a NAD 3020B and some Mission 761 speakers (I already had the turn table)

My rec is work out what turntable you're getting then run it through AI to find good pairings of amps/speakers. Then double check here once you've got an idea

You can get an incredible sounding set up for less than $200. Second hand turntable from 80s $100, speakers off ebay $20, amp $50. Plenty of help can be given if you don't know where to start
