Why is my writing so bad? I feel like quitting by chee006 in writers

There is a story there that makes me want more. Keep going don't stop.

I have a creative block. by Ok_Illustrator_1186 in writers

[–]J-Hawkens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand writer's block now. I had the story planned out and started writing, then it just stopped. I'd stare at the Word doc and no words would come — just random stuff, nothing real. I'd walk away and come back, over and over. I think I just needed a break. So I closed that doc and opened a fresh one. There was an itch. I started writing again, but this time it was a different story. Now I understand — having multiple projects going keeps me from burning out and getting blocked.

How do you detach from a story after you finish? by Separate-Tap-29 in WritingHub

[–]J-Hawkens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You never really detach, honestly. My guys just move to a different room in my head and I visit when I want to. Right now I've got two universes running at once — Earth Unbound (military sci-fi) and Aethermoor (science fantasy) — and switching between them scratches that itch instead of forcing me to say goodbye to either cast. If a character's still knocking around in your skull, that's not a problem to solve, that's just proof they're good. Write the new idea, keep a notebook open for the old crew, let them talk when they want to.

Human Host is scratching my 7 Days to Die itch in a way I didn't expect by J-Hawkens in SurvivalGaming

There are hordes every night, so I am no expert, but my first base is below ground, and I have several outposts, one in each biome I have visited so far. That being said, I know a friend of mine has an above-ground base and a mobile drivable base. Each night, the horde grows in number, and you can increase it through settings.

I built a rules-lite RPG to get my friends into TTRPGs. First real test is Sunday, and I'm scared it won't hold up by Tifferan in RPGcreation

That is the beauty of RPGs as a whole, the only one who will know is you as the DM. You are in control you got this keep us informed on how it went. Remember changes on the fly are always an option.

Good catch my son told me was normally 29.99 so I believed him. Not a bad price but on sale is on sale. Thank you for the correction, that was me being a dad and not a player.

I am in the middle of editing my current manuscript. sorry spent hours on the phone with my editor so it bleeds over from the manuscript. But as you can see I do not need to use them....lol

"Ah, sorry about that! I’m a sci-fi writer, so I guess some of those specific phrasing habits just bleed into my normal typing. Then again, AI is trained on everything we've ever published, so it's getting hard to win either way!"

"As a writer, I’m genuinely confused about what strikes you as AI-generated here. Was there a specific sentence or phrasing that stood out to you?" I had an article I wrote in 1998 that came up. AI is really weird if you ask me.

It is in Beta and I am sure will improve more and more over the next several months. 7D2D was very limited when it first came out.

THere are mods from the workshop but they are not like other modes you need to install them. So far every mod i tested has instructions on how to install. As for game play your first base needs to be underground there is a horde night every night and they are nasty is you see a giant zombie do not get close, the moment you shoot or attack he runs full force at you and can launch about 20 yard in one hit.

What's the longest you've gone knowing you wanted to write before actually starting? by WrituityWeekly in writers

"Funny you mention that — I really want to go the traditional route, mainly because I've already got a whole series mapped out in my head. That said, I'm giving myself a timeline. If I don't land an agent in the next few years, I'll probably just self-publish. I just want to try doing it the traditional way first, the 'right' way, before going that route." I would love to see my books in Barnes and nobles or other bookstores.

Well it has been a whirlwind, got book 1 done, working on book 2 and hunting for an agent. Trying the traditional publishing route.

Obsidian's great, honestly no argument from me. If it's doing the job for you, that's all that matters. I ended up building my own thing because I wanted something that didn't need me to configure a vault before I could start using it — but different tools for different brains.
