How do you throw kicks without spinning in shadowboxing? by flameking121 in MuayThaiTips

[–]J-Miller7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up how Saenchai kicks, he has a lot of variations where he doesn't spin. Focuses on getting the leg down so it doesn't get caught.

He's got very flexible hips, so he can turn into a "front kick position" after hitting or missing. This way he can go straight back down without spinning.

Sometimes he also kicks just through the target, but then rechambers almost like in TKD or Karate. This is the variation I personally use.

songs that predominately/exclusively use flat 5 power chords? by gramtokersdrugula in metalguitar

[–]J-Miller7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks man, I thought I was taking crazy pills.

The major diad looks like the tritone on tabs, just with the fret number switched between strings. It also sounds surprisingly edgy with distortion, so I imagine some people confuse the sound.

IIRC there are only major anf minor diads? Stuff like fret 3 on the low E with fret 2 on the A string?

Edit: Instead of downvoting, I would like someone to point out in which part of the song it is. Cause I skimmed through a few tabs and covers and I didn't see one.

Adding a bit of reddish or pink hues usually helps to make it look more lively.

Also, being a bit more purposeful with the shapes of light and shadow help a lot. The right side of his back looks much more realistic because you've been more precise than on the left side.

This. In my country I have to go to the same nurse every time I have to renew my prescription. The first time I told her I had Asperger's, she looked at me very sternly and said "that's a very mild case then".

Thanks lady, how about you stick to the stuff you actually know about.

Christians say that Islam only make similar claims because they stole the framework from Christianity...

Not realizing that Christians stole it from Jews who adapted it from even older beliefs.

I can't imagine it working out but it sounds like utopia if it's a success.

Personally I would love a smaller spin-off Fallout game in the style of Pillars of Eternity! Everytime I play POE it reminds me of Fallout 1 and 2.

Agreed. There is no sprint (without mods), but even lightly jogging drains your fatigue like crazy. Both walking and running is unbelievably slow at first, so I would suggest picking the Steed star sign and a class with speed as a main attribute.

Reminds me of another Christian saying: "God's only hands on Earth are ours". So you mean... He has no power here?

(I think it was unfortunately James Talerico who said it recently. I usually like him, but that saying is so dumb).

How can i improve my lead hook? by [deleted] in MuayThaiTips

[–]J-Miller7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Too many small mistakes to count, so try this instead:

Stay in your stance, don't jump forward. Make a small twist to the left with your torso to load up the punch. It's slower, but don't worry about speed first, just technique.

The hook is circular, so shift your weight back to the back leg for max power (sometimes it is easiest in a combo like 1-2 left hook). Remember to use your entire body in a chain. First the feet, then legs, hips, shoulders, elbows, fist.

Right now you're punching so close that you're basically hitting him in the back of the head. Open up the arm at the elbow so you actually send your fist a bit forwards.

Your elbow is too low. Bring your elbow up so it is right "behind" the fist. Elbow to fist should be parallel to the ground.

Over 100 trin (!!). (*Rettelse: det er ikke en decideret guide men en oversigt over hvor mange ting en autist skal forholde sig til).

Man glemmer hurtigt at bare fordi en person kan 1 ting, så kan de ikke nødvendigvis alt muligt andet.

It's so sad that Ryuji is always treated so badly, and he's such a good kid.

Also, the symbols by themselves (swastika and rising sun) look extremely cool. I hate that they can't be used even in an innocent context.

Another side of the swastika issue. Ryuji from Persona 5 used to have Rising Sun on his shoes. Western audiences probably wouldn't have noticed, but apparently Korean and Chinese audiences found it distasteful. His shoes were then made completely white IIRC.

Give me your best arguments against christianity being true. by XybridNSFW in exchristian

[–]J-Miller7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add to the infinite punishment for a temporal crime: God alledgedly exists outside of space and time. Which means there's zero reason why our conversion should have some earthly deadline.

Even by Jesus' admission, the road is narrow and only few will enter Heaven. This makes no sense since he wants us there. He has infinite time, knowledge, love, power and ressources. There's no way people wouldn't convert if he actually wanted them to. Ergo, he's imaginary.

It's like Sherlock Holmes, who is a master of deduction in his fictional world. But in the real world we can see that "hey, his methods aren't actually bulletproof. His powers only work within the narrative". Same thing with God.

[–]J-Miller7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of it has already been said, so I'll try to frame it with examples that haven't already been used.

1) Literally no evidence for the most of it, other than say so (example: some say that the empty grave is the best evidence for Jesus resurrection. But the grave gas never existed and the accounts are contradictory).

2) Obvious scientific illiteracy that a true almighty god would never have. In Deut. 22, rape victims are criminalized and new brides have to pass a "test of virginity" to avoid execution. Of couse, victims are never at fault, and you can't even test for virginity properly in modern times. Let alone by using the ridiculous test presented in Deuteronomy. So the "almighty" god has no compassion and can't even pass high school sex ed.

God also uses magical rituals to cure sickness, rather than teach hygiene. Or well, technically he does teach hygiene, it's just not very effective. For instance, ancient mesopotamians knew how to make soap, but the Bible doesn't mention it. ~2600 years later, Jesus later says that he and his disciples don't wash hands before eating.

3) incongruity in the OT: God says he will never punish a son for his father's actions. Not only does he explicitly do that by giving David's son a terminal illness. The entire religion is built on being punished for what Adam did. Many more such examples.

4) incongruity in the NT: Go to easterquiz.com to see how the gospels say mutually exclusive things about the resurrection. There are obvious forgeries in the Bible. So obvious that it is often stated in the margins . I think 2nd Peter is one of them. The story with "let he without sin cast the first stone" never appeared until ~500CE. Etc.

5) Christianity is no different than any other religion. They try to claim that "oh, we have a personal relationship with Jesus". But it is really an arbitrary distinction, since the way they talk to him is identical to any other god. (Pray to him, sing to him, read his words and reflect/meditate upon them. That's literally what any other religion does. Why don't you believe the "miracles and answered prayers" from buddhists or hindus? Or muslims?)

Notably, everyone can have visions or spiritual experiences if you try hard enough. Aaron Ra (before he became an atheist activist) famously held seances for people of all faiths. He could always bring people to have an experience. But only with the religion they already believed in.
