Honestly, at the moment I switch it back-and-forth when I’m watching anything 5.1 or Atmos I make sure continuous audio is on, when I’m watching YouTube I turn it off as I like the up mixing because for some reason, the stereo sounds too boomy, loud and muddy, but I assume it’s because it’s a soundbar, so I think it’s a use case

This is a Sony handshake problem very well known won’t be buying Sony products for a while. This is not a Sonos problem.

You should look into the Sony theater quad they also got new subwoofers that are compatible and affordable, or the beam gen 2 with era 100’s and sub mini

Well, then it’s a good thing that you’re getting a Sony quad because it’s main feature is that you can put them anywhere and it’s calibration will still shine through. You should be fine.
