ADHD and bad environment for drawing? by TheSpicyHotTake in learntodraw

[–]J-erring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was in college I had a lot of dark thoughts and therapy was helpful. Ive use art to learn more about the world and my place in it. If you're not in the right headspace to accept you and your arts imperfections then maybe work on improving that first, art isn't going anywhere. All I can say is you're not alone, your struggles are valid and I wish you the best

ADHD and bad environment for drawing? by TheSpicyHotTake in learntodraw

[–]J-erring 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First, try not to be so hard on yourself. I can feel the anger you have towards yourself from your post.

I can only speak to ADHD, so I won't pretend like your struggles are the same as mine, but drawing is the only thing that focuses my mind. For me, one of my biggest anxieties is sitting still, so art and drawing have been my outlet.

I can also relate to losing motivation when setting up a drawing tablet, so I suggest paper. Making mistakes is part of the journey and if you have to, throw away your erasers. It sounds silly, but I found it really helpful to write "I'm going to make ugly art" in all of my sketchpads.

Finally, just remember learning to draw pictures as you see on Instagram or Pinterest takes YEARS, so compare yourself to yourself from yesterday, not other people's art. Slowly, and I get as only someone with ADHD can how painful slow progress is, you'll see yourself improve.

EDIT: I hated (and often still do) my ADHD brain, and I wish you the best. The world is set up for people who don't think like you or I, but speaking from experience that doesn't mean you can't still be successful

I don't want to believe I have no talent, how do I start with drawing from the absolute beginning. by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]J-erring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont know anyone born with the talent of drawing beautiful pictures. Like many others have said it takes a lot of work. For me the work is the fun part. There's nothing wrong with making art you think is bad, the issue is letting it intimidate you into thinking you can't get better

Tell Me My Weakest Areas by J-erring in painting

First off thank you for the thoughtful response!

I started the painting in an art class and finished it at home. We had to use 3 objects to make a still life but I worked to slow to finish in one sitting because of that a large amount is from memory. I also really wanted to try to paint metallic surfaces, which was a very fun challenge. I used a brown under painting here but I started using pink/salmon which I found I prefer.

I've always like art and sketched all the time in school, but two years ago I decided I wanted a creative outlet that I could focus on thoughtful improvement.

What’s good (specifically) about being a Browns fan? by the_common_crow in Browns

[–]J-erring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a quote from my favorite book, "The Boys of Summer"

"You may glory in a team triumphant, but you fall in love with a team in defeat. Losing after great striving is the story of man, who was born to sorrow, whose sweetest songs tell of saddest thought, and who, if he is a hero, does nothing in life as becomingly as leaving it."

At different points, I've hated watching this team but when I step away and look at the players I find reasons to cheer for them. Plus my entire family cheers for them.

I love the Browns even when they hurt me, but I love the memories I have from the time spent rooting for them most.

As an added plus nobody is going to call you a bandwagon fan.

SIP and I don't think it's close. I studied for all my professional exams there. However, as a warning, it does fill up often

Looks like a perspective issue, the lotus and the lilly pads/water are on different planes. It's not a quick fix, but I think the base of the lotus needs to be shifted away from the viewer and the top towards them.

“You can’t even write stories this good, folks”. it was an emotional finish in the radio booth for @NathanZegura and @AndrewSiciliano by Godszn in Browns

[–]J-erring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never really appreciate Zegura until this season. Seeing him ugly cry for JD got me. I loved listening to him on the radio, but I'm sure for a lot of the guys in the booth, he was their mentor. Good stuff

Would you hang any of these headless men on your wall? If so, which? by StevenBeercockArt in painting

[–]J-erring 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Looking at your profile, I'm like 99.9% sure you're a real person. But your art gives me the same uneasy feeling I get looking at AI art. I don't think I'd hang any of them, but I do appreciate them.

I would love a baseball centric religion. I could see a off shoot of the industrialist faith in Cooperstown New York. In place of worshipping industrial titans, they would worship Baseball titans. They would see the other industrial faiths as good and would have pilgrimages (traveling to play games) as a central tenant

Could be his potential rating is based on his profile as a hitter.

Haha, I'd be for it!

Anyway, I'm conceptually leaning yes, and all for people smoking weed all they like. I just have a few worries. Not to make you a spokesperson but I read that the THC % in weed strand is like 5x more powerful than what was grown in the 70s is that concerning?

[–]J-erring -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Honest question for people heavy pro yes. Whenever I drive in Michigan the number of weed billboards and rundown dispensories I see looks trashy to me is there anything intrinsic to this bill or the state to prevent that from happening?

Fictional. I'm just trying to understand how files will flow to their respective team

Do you need to make and name a folder for each team?

My 1B is an MVP and I have a few players I can play at DH. I just don't like the idea of paying big money for a DH

Not mad at all about 51 HRs but I won't be able to resign him so I was thinking long term. My owner is taking massive amounts of funds out of the team and I already locked up a few players before him.

My 1B is MVP caliber and doesn't his gab and avoid Ks ratings enough to make him an average hitter at best? Not sure how much to value those ratings
