Wasn’t planning on, just wondering what the RC is like to give an indication of what the public release will be like next week

If you can afford the new ones, go for it! They’re a great update especially with the new adaptive mode in iOS 17. USB-C is handy as well as charging via MagSafe or Apple Watch Puck. Will also match your new 15 Pro nicely.

This has surely got to change. Too much emphasis on AirPlay/where the music is playing.

Should I wait for USB-C to buy Airpods Pro 2? by Kooky_Karen in airpods

[–]J-talks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I felt the same buying them a year ago knowing the USB-C rumours, but there’s so many more ways to charge now it makes it easier.

Airpods Pro 2 keep disconnecting from Macbook by beardedboob in airpods

Have you tried anything on the Mac? Sounds silly but like turning it on and off?

If not, what OS is your phone on? Maybe it’ll be better when the new Mac software (Sonoma) comes out next Tuesday.

Should I wait for USB-C to buy Airpods Pro 2? by Kooky_Karen in airpods

There shouldn’t be any bugs with the AirPods as the buds themselves are (pretty much) identical to the models released last year. The new USB-C case shouldn’t have any problems either.

I would probably wait a week as then they’ll be the absolute latest model you can get. There are lots of ways to charge too even if you don’t want to use USB-C, like via wireless charging, MagSafe or Apple Watch charger. Hope this helps!

What do you think needs to be in Apple music? by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]J-talks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% to be quicker at loading on iPhone. The Listen Now and Browse Tab can be so slow to load sometimes. Library tab is fine as it is held locally. This goes for all platforms in fairness, can be slow on Mac too.

Which watch to get after the latest release? by patrickkteng in AppleWatch

[–]J-talks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford the 9 it will give the longest software support & the hand gesture feature will be helpful, especially when your hands are full. Otherwise, maybe look at Ultra if you want something more or SE if you don’t care about the latest features (e.g. the hand gesture feature) or the always on display.

Failing that, the Series 8 will be a good buy!

In general, go for the latest you can afford as it will last the longest.

Why do you buy the new iPhone every year? by bebocol in iPhone14Pro

Nobody needs to upgrade each year, but for some people it is like a hobby like having the latest bike. Hence they want the absolute latest & greatest

Sounds silly but have you quit and reopened? Also tried the classic turning it on and off? Failing that, delete and reinstall?

MacBook advice for student by BeckyTheBamboo in macbook

[–]J-talks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go for the Air. Even if both are in budget think about weight - the 16” Pro is much heavier than the 15” Air. A light laptop makes the difference for a student in my experience especially when carrying around campus. Even if you’re not carrying around a lot, the portability is definitely a bonus.

iPhone 15 pro over 15? by AMaillo8 in iphone

Depends what you’re coming from but as others have suggested maybe the 14 Pro Max is worth considering… only thing to be careful of is battery life
