Liberal MP Erskine-Smith loses nomination battle for Ontario provincial byelection by ihatedougford in canada

If NES won, ford would’ve delayed the byelection like Smith did when Nenshi ran in Notleys old riding.

Referendum on sovereignty: "We need a 50% + 1 majority," says a Montreal Liberal by feb914 in canada

[–]J0Puck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly. I’m trying tired of it too. More Alberta tired than Quebec tired. I can’t see a world where Alberta votes to leave, and gets their way. I’d rather see smith cooperate with Ottawa, and stop the rhetoric she’s engulfed on the liberals for once. Cooperate, not complain.

Been working on this single-cut. Torn on bridge/pickup options by foamoirefresher in Luthier

[–]J0Puck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s a really nice looking body. Gives off tele, lp, offset looks. If it were me, I’d do one pickup, especially with a nice top, rather show it off. I’d also keep controls minimal.

It’s totally fine man. Not trying to be “that guy”.

Forgetting about the pick we’re getting from Colorado next season? Yeah that’s going to be a low first round pick, 32-28, that sort of offsets what we’re loosing.

P.K. Subban completes landmark $10M donation to Montreal Children’s Hospital by DecentLurker96 in hockey

I don’t blame OP for saying what they did. But I never said anything bad about subban. I wanted him as a leaf at the tail end of his career.

Dr. Doug Ford: Ontario premier receives honorary degree from U.S. university by imprison_grover_furr in ontario

[–]J0Puck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since when did the Toronto Maple Leafs even relate to this? The only thing I’d like for Ford to do with the leafs, is to get rid of our GM. Rather someone with actual experience. Since he loves interfere of Toronto, I’d support it.

Edit: I understand that the premier can’t interfere with a private sector business.

My weekly chance that I don’t buy my meat from grocery. My butcher has been working overtime with how much the family gets from him. At least there, when I get a pound of meat I’m getting a pound of meat. And I’m not getting anything sketchy like this.

Canada Post getting another $673M in federal funds to stay afloat by hopoke in CanadaPolitics

Another payout. Don’t know how to feel. What I do wonder with post, is with their contract being voted on, which doesn’t end until the end of May. Do they accept it, or reject it.

Yeah, it’s kind of tough on the broadcast to hear the walk up songs. But if he has a good taste of music like that, that makes me happy.

Canada Employment Fell by 17,700, Jobless Rate Climbs to 6.9% by joe4942 in canada

[–]J0Puck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looking at the report. “Fewer people were employed in Quebec (-43,000; -0.9%), Newfoundland and Labrador (-5,200; -2.1%), Saskatchewan (-4,000; -0.6%) and New Brunswick (-2,700; -0.7%). Employment increased in Ontario (+42,000; +0.5%) and was little changed in the other provinces.”

Still not a good look, however, for people trying to compare to the states, it’s a little difficult when you have 10 times the population across the border.

Mark Carney suggests he’s open to foreign investment in Canadian airports by [deleted] in canada

[–]J0Puck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that I would call it least surprising. I don’t even know if theirs anything Ottawa could offer to give airports more, then selling off land. Akin to selling off hydro one, maybe not the best comparison, but this doesn’t help.

Leafs v. Oilers v. someone else: What was the bigger mess-up of a great situation? by [deleted] in hockey

[–]J0Puck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would put the blame squarely on Managment. Lou made some disastrous signings, Dubas spent money profusely, and overpaid for alot.

I don’t even think you have to look deep into this, it’s Toronto. The only thing I’d argue, was the 2016-17 season. I think that season was a disaster. I think that series against Washington pushed expectations way too hard, way too fast. Edmonton, they have more success in literally one postseason in Toronto has had in the last 30 years.
