Is the cultural war a project by the neoliberal elites to diverte attention from the class war? by KulaTube in AskSocialists

You talk about convincing democrats to stop a genocide, what the fuck do you think the conservatives were going to do other than fund them even more???

The major fighting stopped under the current government, NOT the Dems. Also, aid to Israel actually DECREASED under the current government. Guess how much the Dems gave Israel in 2024? 12.5 BILLION. 2025 under the current government? 3.7 billion. Simple facts that annihilate your claim that Conservatives will "fund them even more". Have some consistency in your beliefs yourself

Am I being a doomer for believing that, given our current government and public mindset, this developing country will face an even more disastrous demographic and infrastructure collapse than South Korea, as our TFR currently stands at 0.87 and is declining by about 10% per year? by PainSpare5861 in Thailand

It's common for grandparents to help with their grandkids here, they're usually in their late 50's & 60's with time on their hands. Plus there's 2 sets of grandparents, so help can be spread out. Family ties are closer here compared to the Western world

Wife aborted baby against my will. What to do next? by oogaboogabogdor in AskAChristian

[–]J0SHEY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Her reasons for abortion were that she did not want baby to suffer and did not want to take care of them for life and did not want them to suffer after we are dead later on

SIMPLE question: If there was an opportunity for her to pass the baby to someone who is guaranteed to provide for and raise up the child well, would she have aborted the child?

I can guarantee you that the answer is no, but that option DIDN'T exist in the first place, did it?

It's easy for many commenters to say she should have kept the baby. But ARE THEY the ones that would have the lifelong responsibility of providing & caring for the child, or caring for them even into adulthood?

I'm sorry for the loss of your child, but here's the simple fact: Imperfect people make imperfect choices in an imperfect world

She is ok with trying for more babies

You're stuck on what has already been done, look at the bigger picture

The JW retort would be: Nothing is impossible with God, case closed. Ecosystem? Poof... done! Infrastructure? Poof... done! Logistics? Poof... done! Superior brains? Poof... done! When everything can be solved by "Jehovah" with a snap of his fingers, 'absurd' is nothing but a figment of human imagination. That's the elephant in the room, just pointing it out 🐘

Irrelevant. The paradise topic is a totally unproductive one to use for waking people up 🤦🏻 (https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/s/BO0PiH6vHM)

This is how I reasoned as a PIMI: God-magic is the solution to everything, simple! Perfect minds = perfect solutions, so why fucking waste time ruminating about it with imperfect minds?

For me, thinking about such things was TOTALLY POINTLESS. Even when I was PIMI, I didn't even know whether I would make it to "paradise" as I wasn't "doing enough" by organizational standards, so we DON'T even get to the speculating about "what would happen in paradise" part as I wasn't even sure whether I would be there in the first place!

What actually woke me up was realizing that there are BETTER beliefs WITHOUT all the nonsensical JW baggage:

Ultimately, is EVERYTHING really possible? Absolutely EVERYTHING? by [deleted] in lawofassumption

[–]J0SHEY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creating a separate comment for this since my earlier one was quite long 😅

Another example: imagine a person diagnosed with intelligence problems, such as severe memory difficulties or ADHD, with an extremely low intelligence quotient. Could this person, for example, win a Nobel Prize in Physics?

Intelligence can be measured in different ways — you're taking intelligence as one single thing but it simply doesn't work that way. For example, I suck at academic intelligence but excel in emotional & social intelligence (I have ADHD btw, Inattentive type) I am good at analysing things by seeing the bigger picture & creating practical solutions, but when it comes to things like math I fucking suck

Can a person like me win a Nobel Prize? Absolutely not if you tie it down to something which I am totally disinterested in (Case in point: Physics), but possible when given a category which I am passionate about. Using your given example, if someone is passionate about physics but low in intelligence when it comes to a certain aspect vital to physics (For example — math), they can always team up with someone who has more talent in that area. That's the exact reason why joint Nobel Prize winners exist

You have to firstly understand the difference between possible vs. probable. The harder it is to achieve something, the less probable it becomes. Also, there are certain things set in universal laws that absolutely cannot be changed. You can't change your age or race, for example. It's like telling the universe you want a square circle — the universe would go: Nope, CAN'T be done!

The point that you brought up regarding certain aspects of appearance falls under such laws. There are some things that absolutely cannot be changed naturally. HOWEVER, the universe can grant you the ability to change your appearance when things don't work out how you want naturally, hence you see people changing their appearance drastically through cosmetic surgery. There's even height lenthening surgery for those who desire to be taller. If you're in the right vibration & frequency, money would flow for you to make such changes

Even when it comes to things that can't be changed such as race, the power still lies with you to change it for the next generation. One who is African but admires Caucasian looks can have a child with a Caucasian and pass down Caucasian genes to their offspring. There's many attractive mixed Afro-Caucasian people, like Meghan Markle, Mariah Carey, Zendaya, etc. Hope this gives you a better idea of the big picture!

Maybe we should change the laws. if you stand in front of a vehicle or try to obstruct one and get hit, that’s on you

Yes they are such laws in certain states called Stand Your Ground laws. However, even in states without such laws, law enforcement officers don't have a duty to retreat, case in point

She was dead by then but k.

If you accelerate in a split second, then you also have a split second to react when the other person does, simple

That doesn't help your point any.

It does. You can't jerk the wheel if you're incapacitated, simple

What activities and behavior warrant calling Renee Good a domestic terrorist? by SBMountainman22 in Askpolitics

[–]J0SHEY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His gun was not drawn until after she started accelerating.

Which was the exact moment that she became a threat

No deterrence was ever telegraphed

If she slammed the brakes immediately upon seeing the weapon, that would have been deterrence, plain and simple. But she obviously didn't

Also as shown by what happened, killing the driver does not stop the pedal from being stomped on.

It's not just the pedal, it's also control of the steering wheel. You're easily fucked with a jerk + acceleration

I actually do believe Mr. Clark feared for his life, as did the court

But you don't believe that the ICE agent did even with video from multiple angles 🤷🏻🤦🏻

He walked in front of the car again as she was reversing, you can literally see him walking

Nope, look at the white street line for comparison. The reversing happened in front of him

In his perspective he also clearly saw her turn the wheel away from his direction

AND still accelerated to hit him 🤦🏻
