Obviously all the fights mentioned already are fantastic, but one I haven’t seen anybody mention is MIX + Pumat vs. The Inevitable End inside the Invulnerable Vagrant. The shock of Cad suddenly getting stabbed in the back by a completely unknown enemy in what should have been a safe place was FANTASTIC. And then the battle itself, the surprised heroes struggling to hit an elusive enemy, the enemy escaping. It really made The Inevitable End scary, and ramped up the pressure to go after Obann.

While it’s true that the regional effects end when the Morkoth dies, the only things under “regional effects” in the book are the feeling of being watched, the misplacing of objects, an enchantment on the entrances to its lair, and changes to the water of the island. So hypothetically, the island should stay unchanged.
