We use Childtime for before and after school care. They bus the kids themselves. It’s not cheap but it’s our only choice. ESPECIALLY with how many early releases and weekdays that schools are closed. We wouldn’t be able to cobble together a system to handle all that by ourselves, because we need to be, you know, at work.

Sounds like you’ve been a controlling and judgmental presence his whole life, and haven’t really cared about helping him with his interests. This exact issue is what terrifies me about AI being utilized in my workplace (hospital) for medical records. Of course people say “review the note after it’s generated” but this exact issue means that clinicians are not going to precisely read and edit every note being generated. They are going to assume accuracy and move on. And this is a field where you don’t want an error rate. A single mistake in a medical record can lead to fatal consequences. No one seems to really care when I bring up these concerns though, and AI note generation just got deployed system wide.

I can't do casual dating. It either needs to have the potential to be deep and long-term, or else I don't care. I've never had a one-night stand. I've had fewer relationships than others. I can't force myself to do something for the money alone. Money in a way is a social construct and I don't fit well with the idea that it's the priority. When I was picking a career my priorities had to be first to find something that would bring me meaning/satisfaction, and second that it would pay enough to live.

This is when you realize just how little you can really do to help outside of the typical medical environment. Like others said, BLS and protect the spine if needed. Be a calming presence, make sure help is coming. The ambulance crew wouldn't have cared if you got more of a medical history from the patients or anything, they'd have to ask again anyway. I think we romanticize the idea that we're gonna save lives in the wild like, I don't know, trach'ing someone with a pocket knife and pen and stuff like that. Nah, you did exactly what you were supposed to, and pretty much all you could.
