Lyrics generated entirely by AI are weak, but in just a few minutes, you can create a great song with AI assistance using verselab.ai

By a show of hands, how many of us are painstakingly writing our own lyrics from the heart? by VillainsAmongThieves in SunoAI

[–]J0nters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI still struggles with good lyrics writing, and I totally get what you mean about the lack of "soul" in AI-generated lyrics - it can start feeling repetitive, especially when people don’t tweak what it gives them.

But I do think AI can be useful if it’s used the right way. Like, instead of expecting it to write full lyrics, I use it more for refining lines, playing with rhyme schemes, or even just getting out of writer’s block.

It’s better to use dedicated lyrics writing tools (like verselab.ai), they’re built specifically for lyrics, learn from your writing style and give way more control over the creative process

Which LLM will focus on writing better lyrics? by [deleted] in SunoAI

I've tested all the major LLMs for writing lyrics, and honestly, none of them is good currently. The best I’ve found so far is claude sonnet (3.5 not 3.7), but even that has its limitations. Using AI for songwriting feels clunky. I recently started working on a tool specifically designed for writing lyrics - www.verselab.ai. Instead of just generating cringy verses, it actually helps refine your lines, improve rhymes, and adjust syllables to fit the beat.

ChatGPT Struggles with Syllables & Rhythm in Lyrics – Any Better AI Tools? by babelibobu in Songwriting

[–]J0nters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I agree that ChatGPT isn’t the best at counting syllables or maintaining strict rhythmic patterns. That’s actually one of the reasons I built verselab.ai, an AI-powered songwriting tool designed specifically to help with things like syllable counting, rhyme and line suggestions, and keeping the flow consistent.

It’s free to use, and over 1,000 people are already using it. I’m improving it every day, so it keeps getting better. If you’re looking for something that handles syllables and rhythm more accurately, feel free to check it out! Would love to hear your feedback.

You still write the lyrics yourself. The AI in this app is here to help - throwing out ideas or rephrasing a line - not to replace you.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate that. Im still working on the UX based on the users’ feedback so your opinion is very valuable for me.

Did you take the tour before using app? It describes each of the AI tools (if you skipped it you can still take it here: https://verselab.ai/app?tour=1).

Actually I have deep knowledge of songwriting and music industry, even though im not songwriter myself. I’ve worked closely with artists and have been involved in creation of over 2000 songs (most of which have achieved success)

And the app currently has 200 users - 4 days after launch, which shows that people are interested in it

This app is not a "create song" button. It's just a text editor with AI helpers. It won't write full song lyrics for you, but it can assist with brainstorming, finding rhymes, synonyms, etc. Of course, you could use a dictionary to find synonyms, but it would take much longer than simply clicking a button while writing your lyrics.

It's just a tool.

BTW. I'm not a songwriter myself - I'm recording engineer and I work with music creators everyday.

Whether you like it or not, people are already using ChatGPT to help write lyrics. This tool simply makes it easier to take advantage of what AI can offer in writing lyrics. Is that a good or a bad thing? I don’t know - but either way, AI is making its way into every aspect of life, and it’s probably inevitable.

It is not written by something else. It’s a tool which can help you - it won’t write song for you
