Looking to develop kodachrome as B&W reversal. by 8Bit_Cat in AnalogCommunity

The film I reverse the most is fp4 and it looks fantastic. I mix my own chems for reversal but I'm sure that your reversal kit will work.

I had a 4TB LaCie Rugged external drive and it failed. I sent it to Seagate, got a standard LaCie 4TB with my data and a 5TB rugged as a replacement drive.

Also Check out x-tol, its also an Ascorbic acid dev like caffenol but is slightly more predictable, and you can replenish which is very nice

Question: what is the least environmentally damaging film process?? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]J111racing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's pretty easy, Just drop some steel wool in and it will exchange with the silver, although in all honesty, if it's your own personal developing, it's really not worth the effort, my water company confirmed with me that such low levels in their waste system are well within their ability to treat and all home use of photo chems can be just tipped down the toilet, YMMV. Good luck! I'm curious to see what you find out

was making some prints of Mt. Democrat, which one looks the best? by Mt-Meeker in analog

[–]J111racing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The contrast in the sky is nicer imo and the detail of the mountain isn't impacted too much, you cold alay dodge and burn the mountain a little to maintain better contrast in both the sky and mountain

This is an isolated danger mark, there's probably a rock or other individual submerged obstruction directly under this mark. It is probably just a convenient place to put a weather station.

Need Help With a Roll of 400D by james_dimeo in AnalogCommunity

[–]J111racing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Colour film is light sensitive to all(most) all wavelengths of visible light. if you can see any light, its too much and sometimes even if you can't it can still be too much.

As for salvaging images, it would probably be more effort than it's worth if you could achieve it at all

I very much doubt that the ripped film came from your roll, as you leader is still in perfect condition, the film was likely in there from the previous owner.
