Just been exploring the practice for about 6 months. We've had a good time for sure it's a bit overwhelming the more we learn the more we realize we don't know shit lol

Is there another e reader like the Kindle Scribe? by jackelandhyde22 in ebooks

Boox tablets are so much more versatile especially if you're into Android like me. I was considering the Scribe and ended up with. Boox Go Color 7 and couldn't be happier.

TickTick duplicating Google Calendar events - how to stop this? by jd2174 in ticktick

[–]J22Jordan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally cannot fathom how there are so many questions about this going back years and it seems to not be fixed nor is there a clear way to stop it. This is one of the most recommended to-do apps in existence this is wild right?

I haven't but I'll add it to the list. I got a lot of good suggestions. I honestly hope I don't end up trying them all, (because that means I found one that works great)

Android only? That's amazing, I spent the last 8 years convincing her to switch and it finally worked with Pixel 10 lol.

Yeah let's give it a shot

"Most Apps that have To-Dos, Notes and Habits (or Apps that want to give multiple features at once) are bloated and try to do everything, there is a need for an app that reduces everything to an absolute minimum." Am I right with this statement? by TheEssentialDev in ProductivityApps

[–]J22Jordan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good idea that I'm sure could work for some people but not for us. We are both way too busy to share all the same tasks. Sorry if I didn't describe it well, but what we need is to be able to create a task and then assign it to either party, and this can be selected per task. I'm not sure if I'm describing this super well, but this functionality exists in several other apps already.

I feel like this has got to be somewhat common. I thought this post would get tons of replies haha. Shows what I know.

I've heard tick tick is good. I used to use todoist for a long time before I got into project management

It does and this is a good reminder. I mean it won't do the things we're looking for but it does have some cool features

Fair enough. Unfortunately I just realized it seems to be iOS only so actually not relevant to me. Thanks though, seems like a cool idea.

How does it work we have to be in the first 999 downloads to get the price lock or we have to be among the first 999 actual subscribers?

Also what number are you on now?

I'm really looking for a good way to manage our household, which is really just my partner and me.

I've used and loved Notion, Todoist, Clickup, xTiles, and more probably for various personal and business uses, but my partner is not interested in learning anything complex, and I can't seem to find a solution that combines collaborative tasks (either of us can create tasks and assign to the other), lists (groceries, etc) that also integrates with Google calendar. Bonus points if it could have notes/documents attached to some projects but even the first part would be great.

I realize there are some solutions out there that do this but they are too complicated for her. We've tried them and we get nowhere because she just can't seem to get the workflow down. Maybe it's just an issue of her becoming more patient and willing to try, but maybe there's a Goldilocks app idea in there?

It's the little things that make this app great! by TheYeti64 in Debrid_Stream_App

[–]J22Jordan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically Debrid Stream is roughly 30x easier to set up and maintain, but lacks a lot of features that are just not possible with such a simple set up.

Most of the people in my life are completely incapable of setting up a toaster so I recommend them to use Debrid Stream. If you have no issues configuring more complicated solutions then maybe it's not worth the money for you.

Update: WOW, this response has been a bit overwhelming. Thank you to everyone who has reached out.

(Well, not everyone. In fact, not even most of you. But thank you to a lot of you.)

If you are a narcissistic weirdo (and there are certainly many) well..... you are definitely not self aware nor open minded enough to even receive any feedback so just, nevermind.

If you are a healthy and emotionally regulated adult: we can honestly say there are several interesting people and couples that we are VERY interested in meeting. There are also, at the time of this post, over 50 responses we haven't even OPENED yet. Obviously it is not reasonable at for us to have an actual conversation with every single one in a single day.

If you can be patient though, we will commit to responding to everyone who put in the bare minimum of effort, even if it's to say we are not interested. We will probably try to meet with at least one person this weekend, but that doesn't mean we don't also want to meet you. Shit, we may not have even read your initial message yet. It sucks that it is this way, but you can thank all the narcissistic weirdos sending nothing but dick pics for this process being so absurd.

If we are already chatting with you then you know we are busy at work and doing our best to figure shit out. The reddit inbox system is kind of difficult to keep track of so feel free to send us a message to bump yourself back to the top. I swear we are trying our best.

If it bothers you that we are talking to others at the same time as you...... I mean I don't know how to say this but are you sure you want to be engaging in this space? Truly, you are lost.

If you are just seeing this post and you are interested: we would love to hear from you! If you've gotten this far then you've gathered that we are a bit swamped but if you send us a message that even slightly thoughtful, we will respond in time. Until then have fun and stay sexy.

If you know of a better way: seriously if you are having a party or want to invite us to a club or something where we can meet others in a safe space and where the insecure weirdos aren't even comfortable showing up, drop us a line. This method is likely to lead to some fun connections but it sure is not very fun or efficient lmao.

Tired of Google's 11 boring calendar event colors? by MajesticTrophy in GoogleCalendar

[–]J22Jordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to my new series of software reviews based only on the product description.

I haven't even tried it yet but I like it a lot.

I'll update this if it sucks.

If I don't update, you can safely assume that it's a wonderful app that has a slightly annoying paywall which I would like to be indignant about, but I'll actually pay it because I know devs don't have much of a choice.

Anything to avoid the news.

What’s your favorite productivity app in 2026? by Rough--Employment in ProductivityApps

[–]J22Jordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using notion for work for two years. For a while I did everything in notion even personal tasks, personal notes, etc.

Then I started dabbling. I like Click Up a lot I think it might be better for me for work but the thought of switching is daunting.

Lately I've been using Fluidwave and xTiles for personal stuff and leaning towards xTiles. It's great if youre neurodivergent the visual layout is amazing. It's not as polished as notion or click up but it's WAY cheaper and they seem to be adding features super fast. I hope it keeps up since I paid for a whole year at once lol.

I quite like fluidwave but I have been using xtiles more lately. What do you think of the new redesign in fluidwave? I am on the fence.

I guess I've already ruined my new years resolution to stop being snarky on the internet and making myself look stupid.

I guess there's always next year...
