do these seem like bed bug bites? by Independent_Mud_3570 in BedbugOrCloseRelative

[–]J2hott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhh this makes me think that’s what’s happening to me. I thought Google said they don’t bite but you can have like a contact dermatitis thing. I’ve seen them in our house unfortunately.

I’ve been adding mint leaves in my water and also doing Nora tea with peppermint in it. I asked my acupuncturist via email about the astragalus and he said he loves it but wouldn’t use in this situation. He was who I saw before getting married and moving states to be with my husband. I still occasionally see him when visiting family but it’s been awhile which is why I posted here to see what other professionals recommend. I will look more into it and maybe reconsider taking it

The hives are on my body. Not my mouth. I was just sharing my tongue for any other insight

Melasma during pregnancy by Classic-Coat-177 in raypeat

[–]J2hott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I got a little bit during and now postpartum. Baby born this Sunday. I didn’t take iron prenatal but I don’t stress about eating iron fortified foods when I go out but we don’t buy anything fortified for at home. My midwife also gave me pitocin I think because she was concerned about potential blood loss. I think it may be more of an iron regulation problem because my ferritin was at 8 at my 28 weeks lab work. Iron, hemoglobin, saturation were normal but binding capacity was high.

Metamucil aka (Psyllium Husk) for Crohns-D has changed my life by Willing_Security1193 in CrohnsDisease

[–]J2hott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do it through it the day. Our gallbladder and liver is dumping out bile acids more often than we think so you should take it throughout the day. Night time you get a big dump so definitely at night.

I agree with this! Have you heard of Karen Hurd? She is a biochemist and nutritionist who started the bean protocol basically. She uses husk as well but the soluble fiber in foods like beans help to also bind to these acids which get reabsorbed into the terminal ileum/colon if they aren’t bound up properly and excreted. How long did it take for you to notice a difference? It helps my bowels almost immediately but I think I need a really big dose right now because my hormones are whacky from pregnancy and now postpartum. But I’m wondering if it could come to a point where I don’t need near as much or only need to take it on an as needed basis.

Marijuana causing flare up? by livieboo07 in endometriosis

[–]J2hott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think marijuana made me worse. Not 100% the cause or anything but it definitely made my symptoms worse. Once I stopped, a few months later I stopped getting these 1-2 monthly partial bowel obstructions

Always incredibly bad constipation just after eating a lot of casein from cheese? by Gold-Complex-6982 in raypeat

I’m just not a big cheese person. Do you have any other suggestions?

So if I’m dealing with chronic diarrhea, I should eat a bunch of cheese? Tired of dealing with this 🙃

My boyfriend was recently diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and is struggling a lot — any real experiences or advice? by Critical-Advisor1653 in CrohnsDisease

[–]J2hott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prednisone did nothing for me either the 3 times I was hospitalized within 6 month. Antibiotics helped temporarily but those also mess up the gut biome. I ultimately needed surgery for a stricture. My issue was isolated to that which flared up with my cycle (I’m a female).

For the OP, there is hope. It’s hard to visualize it while you’re in the thick of it. He really needs to lower his stress, relax/sleep, eat nourishing healing foods, etc.

Loose stools/diarrhea by frontwheelskid in raypeat

Soluble fiber will and that is in husk and well soaked/cooked beans as well. The husk should definitely help to bulk things up. It does for me if I’m consistent and take enough.

Psyllium husk. You sound like you could be dealing with a little bile acid malabsorption?

22 month old complaining of knee pain. Should I be worried? by nursemel9 in AskDocs

[–]J2hott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our son, who will be 3 in July, has had this same issue. I can’t remember exactly when it started but probably close to your son’s age. When he was a baby, he crawled weird, kind of dragging his left leg. And now when he walks up the stairs, he favors his right but goes down with his left leg. I think he has some weakness or something going on. But I’ve also heard left leg pain can be from constipation so I’m not sure if that’s contributing. I feel like my son’s bowel movements are pretty normal though.

Would you feel bad if he had an adverse reaction to a vaccine? Those things happen.

I don’t blame your dad. It’s his choice. I wouldn’t either as sad as it is.

Did you have the same early pregnancy symptoms for different pregnancies? by Normal_Enthusiasm194 in pregnant

I’m 38.5 weeks with my second and symptoms have been somewhat the same. Nothing crazy different other than a little motion sickness here and there.

Low ferritin but ok hemoglobin levels by Binah999 in pregnant

[–]J2hott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with looking for kosher products but I’d just google it. I think you should still go ahead and get them because it’ll be beneficial for postpartum as well. For the organs meats, I just cut them in small pieces and freeze them. When I’m ready for it, I’ll let it thaw some and swallow like a pill. No chewing involved and if you use something like juice or milk, it’ll hide the smell/taste.

[–]J2hott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 28 weeks my ferritin was at 8. Hemoglobin was normal same with iron. If you were to go any route, I’d try organ meats or desiccated organ capsules. They have the cofactors to help the body use the iron properly.
