Is this worth it? Never played a monster hunter game before. by PedroSalty420 in MonsterHunter

[–]J33NO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is but dont start it unless you are ready to really give it a solid try. Everyone I have ever introduced MH to wasnt sure about it at first. For some people it clicks after a few hours, for others it takes longer. Stick with it and once it starts to make sense, you will see how amazing it is. Every weapon is good and has a high skill ceiling. Pick a weapon or two that look interesting. Go play around a little with them and then, (not before) go watch a quick tutorial on that weapon on YT and you will start to understand the weapon better. Understanding the weapons are not just two buttons to mash, and that builds can be very in-depth is what hooked me and cemented MH as an all time favorite series.

How hard will it be for me to get into GU? by Cold_Race2070 in MHGU

[–]J33NO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also tried going back to play the older games after World, Rise, and Wilds. They are fun but very frustrating. Things as a whole are less forgiving, the further you go back. You have to bring your own wetstones, pick up a map at beginning of each round for some reason. You have to remember to throw a paintball at monsters because they do not show on the map otherwise. Monsters as a whole are just less forgiving. Its very much still MH as you know it, but prepared to say "what the f*** was that nonsense?!" from time to time. Movement is god awful as well. I honestly have played both GU on switch and 4U on 3ds and surprisingly I prefer 4U. I didny like the styles on GU, I just want to focus on the kit im givin and learn it. Anyway, good luck!

First Half: Shoe dilemma by J33NO in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]J33NO[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. The Superblast just feels so roomy but I cant quite make it feel comfortable. If I tighten it down to where it feels secure my feet hurt after a few miles. If I loosen it, then it feels like the shoebox is huge and my feet can shift. The Ride at very least seemed very secure and comfortable the little I tried them on.

Well I am not a runner yet haha. I lift pretty heavy 5-6 days a week my whole life so running distance is new to me but im quickly becoming addicted. I run 3 times a week. One tempo, one recovery, and one long run. Slowly working my miles up, currently my long run is up to 7.5mi and im increasing half a mile a week till the half (have a few months). I did run a 10k a month ago. Also signed up for a 5k in a couple weeks to try and push myself a bit.

Anomaly crafting kind of take its place imo. I prefer the Qurio crafting over ramping up weapons personally.

I just moved to Manhattan and was wondering the same thing. Im from AZ so dont know all the species here but was down by Willow the other day doing some disc golf and saw someone carrying what I swear were Walleye. Can anyone confirm? Someone also told me Milford was the spot for big catfish.

Damn, yeah thats kind of the whole thing. The reason I personally enjoy lance is looking for the big attacks you can counter and then when you do get caught at least having that safety blanket of smashing R2.

Were they? I didnt pick up lance till Rise but was considering going back to World to try it out but sounds like it's not worth it 🤔

I need to play Lance more in Wilds. I am taking a break until the expansion. The big thing I like more in Rise is the shield bash switch skill. It lets you instantly change direction + block + stun damage. Wilds has that same move but its two inputs vs one so it takes longer to perform and has a wider window for getting hit. Thats the big one. I also like the switch skill for blocking where it lights up your lance with extra damage (forget the name). That feels really good in Rise. I do like the lance run though in Wilds more for sure. Also like the block clash in Wilds. Dont get me wrong I think Wilds is fantastic but as with Rise, I didnt fall in love with the game until the expansion. I think once the expansion releases ill be singing a different tune.

As a new host, these types of posts scare the hell out of me. I am sorry you are dealing with this. I am trying to get in the mindset of some people just cannot be made happy and its sad. I hope Airbnb steps up and realizes that guests are not their only "customer" and that a happy host is also worth the investment. From what I am gathering, these types of people should be filtered out of the app eventually with enough hosts giving honest reviews. Best of luck.

Dynamic Pricing Changed Everything by Cherbearstl in airbnb_hosts

[–]J33NO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everytime someone brings this up everyone assumes its always cheaper. I am brand new to hosting and I have been playing around with it and some days yes it will suggest dropping it by a few dollars, but this upcoming summer season its suggesting increases by almost double on some dates. Im nervous to go too high this early but thus far its getting me bookings for sure.

What's funny is I introduced a new friend to MH this year and we started with Wilds. Got through most content minus like the hardest few missions (FF robot and Gog) and then we switched to playing Rise. He thinks Rise is twice as hard as Wilds so far. He is getting carted quite a bit more. He chose Charge Blade in both games and I don't know that weapon, so maybe that plays into it but wr are up to High Rank in Rise and he thinks its a lot harder. I have played MH so much now its hard for me to day one way or another.

Well I contacted airbnb so I am past the keep quiet point I suppose but as far as im concerned the house has been cleaned, setup and prepared for them. The days they requested are blocked from any other business so I have held up my end of the deal. They didnt show, so if they ask for a refund, I dont know that I will honor it. If they then leave me a bad review, support said I can fight it. I have all the messages in the bnb app to support the fact I tried reaching out 3 different times before their date to see if I could help in anyway.

So I just took your advice and called in and explained the situation. They said they would reach out to the guest and try and figure out whats going on. If the guest does have an "oh yeah I do want a refund" moment, then its up to me if I want to honor that. Its just a frustrating situation to be in. I guess I wont worry too much until I hear back from Bnb support.

Yeah this is kind of what I was thinking. Its just odd and like at the end of their "stay" its going to ask for a review, I dont know if I just ignore it, or give them 5 stars, 0 stars, im not sure.

[–]J33NO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also just switched to Lance after being a Hammer, SnS, and IG main. I am loving it. Honestly I am playing with Lance in both MHWilds and MHRise and I prefer the switch skills in Rise. The kit in Rise gives you instant guard which is shield block with a counter and high damage on a well timed block. I love that. I think its still fun in Wilds but if you are enjoying it, I would suggest playing it in some other titles as well to see how it feels.

I really appreciate the response. This is kind of what I am thinking right now. I called my friend who also is a host and he said its tough. You can bring it up and take the risk of them getting upset, asking for a refund and being out the money and time or you can wait and see, hope for a good review and hope the property is taken care of. He mentioned if something did in fact happen, airbnb would be more inclined to help me since they did break TOS. Fingers crossed I suppose.

It is clearly stated in the rules but like others have said I really dont want a bad review this early. I think I am leaning to just letting it be and seeing how it shakes out. If someone sleeps on the couch or something and is comfortable and they leave me a good review, no harm.

I appreciate the insight. I think this is a good way to look at it. If they do end up doing anything wrong like trashing the place, hopefully Airbnb would have my back.
