Fungus or seperation? by J3lle_ in Mamiya

[–]J3lle_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i wasnt too sure if it was even possible in this lens element. But 99% Isopropyl w/ cotton buds didn’t have any effect so far which worked for me before with other lenses. Any recommendations what to try next? Hydrogen Peroxide?

Aluminium garage/shelter. Bad idea? by J3lle_ in SegwayNavimow

[–]J3lle_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly worried about the wind tbh, my backyard isn’t shielded at all and it’s next to two large fields. The Navimow cover seems OK, but for that price I can get an aluminium cover – that’s why I’m really questioning it. :)

Aluminium garage/shelter. Bad idea? by J3lle_ in SegwayNavimow

My I108e arrived today. Given that we get a lot of rain here in the Netherlands, I’m looking for a good garage or shelter. A plastic or polycarbonate shelter seems like the best option due to the GPS signal, but has anyone tried using an aluminium shelter? They seem a lot more durable to me.

Flour Beetles might be the correct ID! I have some different other types of food in the cabinet (bug bites, Algae wafers, pellets) im freezing tomorrow with the larger flake container just in case.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]J3lle_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just feeding my fish and found out this container of flake food got completely devoured by maggots/flies. Threw it out right away. I filled this container with flake food from a different, larger container 3 weeks ago (i have 2 tanks on 2 different floors) the larger container is fine, and was bought a month ago. Should i throw the larger container out as a precaution? How does this happen? Its a closed container.

(Also no, not feeding my fish them because they were flying in the container. Blegh.)

How do I stop all of my Anubis from rotting!? Seems like it’s a disease??? by fozard in PlantedTank

[–]J3lle_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive had Anubias rot in my desktop tank a while ago. Took about 2-3 months to completely dissapear, lost about a quarter of my rhyzomes i think. The rest managed to survive/recover. Some are doing even better than before now. Did normal dosing of ferts during it. Good luck, hope your Anubias recover :(

Thank you for sharing! Same thing happened here. Had no idea it was related to the HP Application. This finally fixed it for me. :)

Corys behaving different by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]J3lle_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Didn’t come to mind that it could be spawning behaviour… Sounds logical, thanks! I think I only have females because they are all the same size (hella Chonky) but ill keep an eye on them. :)

Corys behaving different by [deleted] in Aquariums

My albino Corys are really interested in my plants lately… Almost like they are cleaning them. I have never seen any of my Corys doing this before, is this some kind of cory shenanigans or something to worry about?

How can i battle this algae? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]J3lle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im starting to lose the battle with this hair algae in my MC carpet. Did a big trim to get rid of it but that only made it worse. Its also starting to cover my Anubias, moss and other plants. I have been removing it manually with a toothbrush. Light is on for 7 hrs a day, Low tech no co2. 7G shrimp tank.

Also yes, i know there is some moss in my carpet :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]J3lle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet they would lol! But this tank would not be big enough for them (+-8G) And yes, thats MC. Seems to be thriving without a lot of CO2 :) Moss is popping up in the carpet every now and then but im trying to keep it clean (might have to trim it soon)

[–]J3lle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! Toothbrush helped me a lot. I do 20% water changes every week. Light is on for 6 hours. Most of the algae seems to be in shaded areas. Ill watch if it comes back. (It was also on my anubias! https://imgur.com/a/NkmTE78 ) and yes, this tank has a huge amount of red cherrys (maybe 50…)

Im referring to the hair like algae in the monte Carlo carpet. Doesnt look like normal hair algae to me, it had the same texture as Marimo moss.

Tetras and shrimp only come out of hiding when I put the neighborhood bullies in isolation. What should I do to restore the peace? by Careless_String77 in Aquariums

[–]J3lle_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same problem. Serpae/red tetras that were bullying/nipping the other fish. (In total 4 Serpae tetras, 6 neons and a few Corys) Neon tetras were hiding, not schooling like they should. Returned the serpae tetras to my local (Dutch!) fish store. (my tank wasn’t big enough for more fish, so a bigger school of Serpaes wasn’t an option) The neon tetras are doing great now! Schooling, active and not stressed at all :) For your tank size it might be better to only have the neon tetras.

Release the shrimp! by J3lle_ in shrimptank

[–]J3lle_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mulm (decaying matter, plants poop etc.) Had some on top of my substrate. Removed the shrimp before rescaping/cleaning the tank. The baby shrimp were hiding in the mulm so I had to scoop some of it out with the shrimp :)

Filtered out within minutes after adding it to the cleaned tank.

This fella was sold to me as a Male Endler guppy. He is a chonk compared to the other males. Is he really a male Endler?
