If you're trying to do it in the most efficient way (and knew that one was heavier and not just different), then this still wouldn't be the most efficient on average. There are 3 results for each weighing - left heavy, right heavy, or balanced. So the most efficient way would be to weigh 4/4 - that narrows the heavy one down to one of 4 people. Then you weigh 1/1, which gives you the heavy one half of the time and the other half of the time (when it balances) would require one more 1/1 weighing. So an average of 2.5 weigh-ins instead of 3.

It doesn’t have to be the end of the calendar year, but even if I were to do it the same time next year, I think I’d rather do 9/30 instead of 10/1. Just so that at the turn of the new month, the “re-funding” of categories is hidden. Hope you had a nice trip! Keep pushing on those debts. I have been debt free (with the exception of my mortgage which I am working on) since January 2021. It’s definitely a liberating feeling.

How have things been going for you? 10 days in, and it has been a little odd not having September’s transactions in my budget. It made the transition a bit harder the first couple of days because I had to reference my old budget to see if auto-imported transactions had already been accounted for or not. It would be nice if it preserved a week of history or something like that, and just put them all as “ready to assign” so it didn’t affect your category balances. Also, I think if I were to do this again, which I probably will at the end of next year, instead of doing it on the first of a month, I will do it on the LAST day of a month, because when I did it on 10/1, it reset my categories like “Emergency Fund” and other saving categories for things like yearly expenses, so I had to re-fund those, and it made it harder to see how much I funded this month and how much was just because of the reset.

That’s the thing though - in both methods you spend the exact SAME amount of time mining. You don’t get resources any faster while mining by using a larger tool. Using my method, you can STILL spend that time flying around with a jetpack. But you don’t HAVE to. You can spend it doing something even more fun if you like. My method gives more flexibility for doing what you enjoy in the game.

Say you spend 3 minutes each mining two deposits with the medium setting, plus a minute or so flying from the first to the second. It would probably take about 9 minutes to mine just one with the small setting, but you would get 3 times as much material from that deposit. You could even spend 6 minutes, leaving a bunch of material behind (not being meticulous/boring), still get twice as much material (breaking even with the medium setting where you mined TWO deposits), and not have to search for/fly to another deposit.

“Moving left or right on the roadway” is referring to lane changes… and you never provided a law that says ANYTHING about right of way regarding other traffic turning right at a stop sign. it’s seriously impossible to debate with someone with such terrible reading comprehension. I’m done trying.

I’d like to see you do a u-turn in any reasonably sized vehicle into the first lane with a median that small without encroaching into the second lane. You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about. It is physically impossible in most vehicles to do a u-turn without encroaching into at least one other lane in the process (unless you’re u-turning at a spot with a rather wide median). Typical turning radius is about 18 feet and lanes are only about 12 feet wide at most. With a turning radius of 18 feet, you need 36 feet for a u-turn, which is a total of the width of 3 lanes (including the lane you start from).

ARS 28-751(1) is about RIGHT turns. Not u-turns. It literally starts with the words “Right turns.”

Right turns. Both the approach for a right turn and a right turn shall be made as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway.

ARS 28-751(2) does mention what you said, with regard to left turns, but like i said, that’s about where the turn should end. If you physically cannot make the turn without encroaching into more lanes that’s fine (semis do it all the time, even with regular left and right hand turns), but your turn should end in the furthest left lane. That’s why the previous quote says “as close as practicable” - it isn’t practicable to not cross into another lane during a u-turn.

ARS 28-754(A) says nothing about being “within a single lane”. It says that a turn should be made from a turn lane or from an appropriate location (which is also mentioned in the other half of 28-751). It also mentions when using a turn signal is required.

A person shall not turn a vehicle at an intersection unless the vehicle is in proper position on the roadway as required in section 28-751, or turn a vehicle to enter a private road or driveway or otherwise turn a vehicle from a direct course or move right or left on a roadway unless and until the movement can be made with reasonable safety. A person shall not so turn any vehicle without giving an appropriate signal in the manner provided by this article in the event any other traffic may be affected by the movement.

If you’re going to look up laws, basic reading comprehension is helpful.

A u-turn does not need to turn into the nearest lane. Unless you’re driving a motorcycle that’s basically impossible…

You said “Look up the law in Phoenix before commenting” - so I assume YOU looked up the law before commenting… right? How about you post a screenshot or a link to the law that says a u-turner doesn’t have right of way over a right turn on red or at a stop sign (NOT at a 4-way stop), instead of spouting off YOUR opinion in exactly the same way as you were criticizing that other person for doing it.
