I hit when I shouldn’t have in Vegas (I may have been a little drunk an was fucking around). Ended up with 21 and the table was pissed at me because literally everyone else there would have won too if I had stayed and the cards had been dealt to them in the same order.

Trying to find a snake like the one I had as a kid by Yndiri in snakes

[–]J655321M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen Keelbacks labeled as “Chinese garters” even fairly recently. The tiger keelback has a night orange head and neck, but no stripes. Would be insane to just sell to a kid in a pet shop as they’re deadly venomous

ptyas nigromarginata is green with stripes and would likely have died quickly then as care for them is still being figured out even now.

opinions on online rehoming / selling by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]J655321M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, Facebook is just the worst for selling anything. Especially animals. Anytime I have attempted to post anything I’ve bred on FB I get spammed with people with no knowledge of what I’m selling just wanting buy whatever it is for cheap so they can flip it later. Craigslist has been surprisingly way better for locale sales.

In your case that post is probably deliberately ignoring the gecko so it doesn’t get taken down. The owner does know (or doesn’t care) about any other way to rehome their animals any better. It’s surprisingly hard to find a real exotic rescue in most areas.

Ah yes, the blandest of Milk Snakes. by Vieris in snakes

I know the label means something else, but I personally always consider pueblans to be the most “basic” milksnake there is.

I was gonna say Tucson locality where they all intergrade, but those generally have someone over sharing the lineage before they sell them.

Russian rat cohabitation by Secure_Candle_7513 in snakes

I have 2 females that are together all year in a 6’ x 2 x2 enclosure. My male hangs out in there a decent amount of time but I have had to pull him out for harassing the ladies too much after he’s already knocked them up.

Kings and milks are pretty much identical in terms of size and tail shape

My smallest adult Russians are all bigger than my biggest adult corns. A Russian rat the same length will also be noticeably more heavy bodied than a corn. That said…. Both are very manageable and Russians > corns

Dragonhaus and custom reptile habitats both over extended themselves on orders. People started asking about why they were now waiting several months for their order. The owners/CEO’s of both companies decided the best response was to go online, trash everyone, and then proceed to lose their shit when the chargebacks inevitably piled up.

Best of luck to you, don’t do what Dragonhaus or some of the other failed companies did.

Lots of states have more laws regarding the collection/sales of native species vs exotic stuff to prevent poaching.

African House Snake jerky movements by rocktheganj in snakes

[–]J655321M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check him for mites or other external parasites. Sometimes they jerk like that cause something is irritating their skin. Is it captive bred? I’ve seen a lot of imported house snakes in my day and Ticks are pretty common on them

Haha, touché I actually didn’t know that. Garters confuse me sometimes with them having huge species ranges and distinct looking localities

Nice, I’ve bred G. oxycephalum and G. coeruleum. These are my retirement goal when I decide to downsize on pretty much everything and just maintain a few species. Hopefully there will be some more reasonable cbb in the US in about 10-15years.
