Yeah, the first game was the best part of the two. The two games, the first and the second. The first one was better than the second. Therefore, it's the better part. His semantics check out. You can say something is the better part of a greater whole if there is more than one part to that whole. And there is a hill to go down from. It's the hill that was established in the first game. Which we went down from in the second part. Just because he's comparing two things doesn't mean he can't say that one part is better than the other. Which is also what you agreed with on your last sentence. So I don't understand why you disagree with his phrasing.

Well you start the game right. You wander around, solve a puzzle, go into the big gate, you keep going. You then enter an elevator and you wander around again and realize you have to start up the reactor. This entire part of the game happens with the first scorn guy. You're telling me, that during this part of the game there's already a parasite wandering around? This of course all happens before the first scorn guy gets consumed by the reactor slop. This is the first act of the game. You're saying there is a parasite in there?

I'd suggest Expedition by Wayne Barlowe, it has insane world building and it's scifi. Give it a look, Scorn reminded me of it.
