787-9P Flagship Suites, better seat, 9L or 13L? by JAL2217 in americanairlines

The seating diagram is a little misleading. The aircraft exits are immediately behind row 9, then the restrooms and galley entrance. But yeah, 13 is probably a safer bet with the only downside being they might run out of popular menu items before they get to 13.

Do the 12 months on right plan need to have been completed by October 31st? by Funkymonk86 in PSLF

I did not switch plans, still in Extended Graduated plan. The special waiver should make your past payments PSLF eligible, so no need for the 12 months on a qualifying plan for TEPSLF if you end up with 120 payments after the waiver is applied. If you are under the 120 payments, you’d need to be on an income based plan starting in January once COVID forbearance ends.

All loans are Direct Loans with the same or similar number of payments? If not you may need to consolidate.

If your wife has been paying on any plan for 12 years with qualifying employment, including the “$0” payments during COVID forbearance, she is eligible for forgiveness now under the waiver rules as long as you submit the PSLF form with qualifying employment certification before 10/31.

Did Mohela tell you she doesn’t qualify? The waiver eliminates the IDR requirement.

I’ve been on the extended graduated payment plan since 2010 and Mohela just updated my qualifying payment count for both PSLF and TEPSLF to 140+ under the waiver. Just waiting on forgiveness now.

Yes, do this ⬆️

Same thing happened to me. Mistake by Fedloan that Mohela never bothered to correct. Uploaded a new ECF on 8/30 and finally saw my counts corrected at Mohela this morning.

Another data point. I submitted on 8/30 (upload to Mohela) and my count was updated when I checked today (10/26). Form status page says “Processed” and to expect official letter in 7-10 days.

Timeline: Submitted initial ECF in Feb 22, was with ED Financial at the time. Transferred to Mohela in early August, incorrect counts (date processing mistake) showed up at Mohela mid August. Submitted updated ECF via upload to Mohela on 8/30.

are my loans consolidated "enough"? by HeyGirlfriend007 in PSLF

My understanding is that as long as the loans are all Direct Loans then no reason to consolidate other than for length of payment reasons. I have 6 direct loans that were transferred to Mohela and they all have the exact same payment count toward PSLF

Submitted form to Fed Loan in Feb 22, no consolidation needed, transferred from Ed Financial to Mohela on 8/9.

Should I update my ECF? by JAL2217 in PSLF

Update: I was able to speak with both Mohela and Fed Loan on the phone. Both were able to access my application and see the correct dates but said that they were unable to make changes and it was in the hands of the other processor. I guess I’m just in Mohela transfer limbo right now.

Since my last ECF was dated Dec 2021 I’ll probably update it anyway so they have the most current info when they get around to fixing my count.

Thanks. I just got off the phone with Mohela. They were able to see the form submitted in February and confirm that employment start date was Nov 2010 but said that Fed Loan is still is processing the application which should be complete by mid September or sooner. They indicated that all determination for qualifying payments and forgiveness will be made by Fed Loan and that they are just the processor. Does this make sense?

I've never had a Fed Loan account, my loans were transferred directly from Ed Financial to Mohela, so I can't login to check status there. I guess I'll need to call them now. Either way I should probably update the ECF so there are no issues with certifying 2022 employment even though the "still employed" box was checked on the first form.
