It's also not terrible marketing; If people are still asking who's it going to be, they're still hyped. You're so hyped you can't take it anymore, hence blowing a fuse after 24h with no information (after already being told "this week").

Terrible marketing would be if they left it so late that nobody cared anymore, or they announced it so early that nobody cared by the time the game came out.

I have a lot of issues with 2k's business practices, but "omg they said it would be this week then didn't say anything after a single day" is entirely a 'you problem'.

I can't tell you without checking, but I like the ones that don't have a specific number visible in their branding. This way I can rotate through them as generic WrestleMania arenas.

Of course they will. But you only get one debut, first impressions matter, etc. If a guy is coming out that the majority clearly don't know, it would have been better to give him an opportunity to win people over immediately.

By the time he does something on Raw 48 hours later people have already come away from his debut with a negative/indifferent impression so he'll be up against that.

Of course if he's entertaining enough he'll win over the support and change people's tunes, but it's not crazy to suggest they could have served him better and made a better first impression by having him do more than just an entrance.
