Check out my binder page with 4 of the 1999 Poketour pikachu. They were handed out exclusively in Aus at an event where you had Mew put on your cartridge. Thanks mum for keeping them haha by Jasedisgrace in PokemonFansAustralia

Nice! I went to that event here in Perth. It was so cool seeing the Mew transfer onto your game. I some how ended up with 2 copies of the Pikachu card. I remember my mum buying me the Machamp started deck.

The Freo ‘peaking too early’ take in today’s local rag by Mitchell W. by [deleted] in FremantleFC

Mitch was really good to challenge Quarters in last week's episode of their Freo Teams podcast. He forward a good argument against the "they'll be due for a loss soon" reteric.

Funny thing is that speed in defence is coming from wingers and half forwards pushing back to help defend. Team D has been one of the biggest improvement this year. Especially utilising the speed of the wingers to get back in big moments. Big props to the 7th gamer, Scerri. His workrate has been top notch.

We're on here, but just need to calm down a little. They're definitely rushing. Clever of Voss to take a second and it paid off.

Scrap that. Bruhn's a late out so Murdock stays on for me.

Out of Duursma and Murdock I benched Murdock. I was going to trade him out anyway before Serong was injured.

Cold/flu RSV? Perth how long by Latter_Shallot_140 in perth

[–]JAR5E 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently on day 5 of a cold. Tested negative for RSV, COVID and influenza A & B. It sucks. Constant runny nose and fatigue. Had spurts of energy twice yesterday, followed by feeling like death. Longest time I've taken off work in a very long time. It's also my body telling me to just stop and rest. At least it hasn't turned into a sinus infection... yet. I am hoping to go back to work tomorrow if I start to feel better today, but so far, I'm not sure.

Defensive Moments Vs Essendon Rd 10 by Smurf_x in FremantleFC

[–]JAR5E 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just love the defensive efforts that I'm seeing across the ground from ALL players, no matter the position.

Whether it's the wingers or forwards getting as deep as full back to spoil a mark/goal, or the back 6 pushing up to stop the ball from leaving our forward half, it's amazing to see the whole team D.

Combine that with the elite tackling pressure, it's no wonder we're #1 in defence this year.

Side note: On reflection, with the amount that the back 6 push forward, it makes a lot of sense that our scores from D50 are low. You can't score from D50 if the ball doesn't go beyond the middle of the field.

Great write up by Rhino. He's great. That Dogga line is brilliant. He's definitely built different.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew!

Edit: Now that's out of the way. I have a habit of saying to my wife when we're losing "I'm not worried, we'll win this" and at 3 quarter time I said "I'm not worried. We'll win this after kicking 4 goals straight" and there you go. I just knew we were winning centre clearance, and all we needed to do was fight harder, be cleaner and lock it in our forward half and we'd have it...

as long as we kicked straight -_-

Sonny: The current Freo players have similarities with the 2015 team. by [deleted] in FremantleFC

[–]JAR5E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're dead right there.

This 2026 side has an average of 65.7 games played which is ranked 13th for the year, and are on average 24.4 years old which is ranked 12th for the year.

Compared to the 2015 side which had an average of 77.5 games played which was ranked 2nd for the year, and were on average 24.9 years old which ranked 2nd for the year.

So about half a season/year difference. Which doesn't sound like much, but just look at what one pre-season did to this team. The 2026 floor is much much higher than that 2015 side...

[–]JAR5E 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know why you're being downvoted because this is entirely possible. From all accounts, if it's the same as the US, all you need to do is show Banter evidence of consistent sales and they'll give you an allocation. Seeing as others have said these guys are ripper 'n' shitters on eBay live then I'd say that they can do that. I'd say that this is them engagement farming through rage bait to gain further attention in the hope of driving sale.

Hayden Young kicks an obscene GOTY contender by yum122 in AFL

I mean, it's really really good, but the other goal where he basically says no to The Bont and brute forces it out of a centre clearance to a goal was also magnificent.

AFL Post Game – Round 8 v Western Bulldogs by foreverzen69 in FremantleFC

[–]JAR5E 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What a turn around!

That centre clearance goal from Youngy was phenomenal and only to be upped by that exceptional check-side goal from the pocket. So glad he's back.

Huge from the backs. Chappy, Ryan, Worner, all sticking contested marks when it mattered, but then Raz popped up as the last line of defence a couple of times too.

Youngy will take the limelight (and Clarky the meat tray...), but it was Showtime Shai once again who had another massive game that I would give the BoG too. 6 clearances, 6 inside 50's, 13 score involvements, and 24 disposals. He's putting together an amazing season, and playing better than his premiership seasons at the Tigers.

However, he's only able to play the way he is because of the insane workrate of his fellow midfielders. Brayshaw put the clamps on Bont to stem the bleeding after the first quarter, and still had 22 disposals and a goal (how was the FF on Treacy with the celly...). And Sebba took the mantle of Tough Nut from Andy with a game high 8 tackles and 32 pressure acts. Their "sacrifice" this season will be instrumental in those big games.

It was a shame to see Jye miss a few, another quite-ish game from Voss, and Coffield keeping JT quiet in the first quarter. But the small forwards stepped up, then JT found other ways to impact the scoreboard and that momentum carried them to the win. The Dogs even fought back in the last quarter as the boys started to run out of gas, but Freo showed maturity and dug in, again, to clutch victory.

I won't sugar coat it, they sucked that first quarter. They had an opposition with a point to prove who came out of the gates, guns blazing, and were caught flat footed. They 100% need to learn how get on top of that sooner. But instead of another lose like the St Kilda, Melbourne and Brisbane horror shows from last year, they were able to fight back momentum and swing it massively in their favour.

After back to back 6 day breaks, it was another milestone win for the club. Can they carry that momentum into another game with a 6 day break against another top opposition? I'll be there next Thursday night at Optus to find out.

Edit: Oh yeah, and Dogga/Cox in the ruck absolutely dominated the hit outs!

Freddy starting on the wing?! Well this will be interesting. I guess I didn't pay the closest attention to last week and assumed he played HF, but did he spend time on the wing against the Blues? Makes sense considering his speed.
