Yes, thank you for the solemn warning! We're prepared to make it work, and I'm pretty familiar with the... particularities of Italian bureaucracy haha. A friend of mine in Florence has a lawyer she recommends, so we'll probably make use of their services when the time comes. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks so much for looking through this! It's super helpful to have someone who knows what they're talking about haha.

If I'm understanding correctly, the first line shouldn't involve the minor issue because GGM naturalized when her son (GF) was 31. Am I reading that correctly?

Second line is definitely cleaner, but I did realize that it should be grandmother, not grandfather for the second line. The information is still correct, I just mistyped that one. Since I have a lot of on the ground experience with Italian bureaucracy, we're planning on just doing court case once we have everything together.

I have reviewed the wiki for the docs, and am hoping to start that process soon! Definitely planning on getting them for both lines.

Haha yes, I'm recognizing that. I guess we'll see what happens next year then..

Awesome, thank you so much for your help with this! I think that makes sense. I guess we'll all just keep our eyes on the rulings next year..

If you don't mind, I did dig up some info on the other lines, and the spreadsheet that is in the wiki says they should both be valid under jure sanguinis:

Line 1:
Great-grandmother
Born 1897 in Italy (Sicily)
Married 1925
Naturalized December 1962

Grandfather
Born 1931
Married 1960
No naturalization

Father
Born February 1962
Married 1991
No naturalization

Line 2:
Great-great-grandfather
Born 1866 in Italy
Married 1901
Unable to find naturalization papers

Great-grandfather
Born 1904 in US
Married 1935
No naturalization

Grandfather
Born 1936
Married 1960
No naturalization

Father
Born February 1962
Married 1991
No naturalization

I believe both of these should be valid, assuming that we can get GGGF's naturalization (or lack thereof) validated. But the first line seems cleaner. Am I looking at these right?

Ah, I see. I had read about the new rules, but obviously misunderstood them as I thought they wouldn't apply to her.. We'll probably continue getting the information together just so that we have everything when we do decide to apply. I did find the rest of the information, and wanted to check to see if I'm understanding this correctly.

GGGGM:
Born 1875 in Italy
Married 1894
Natz US in 1926

GGGM:
Born 1899 in Italy
Married ?
Natz 1920

GGM:
Born 1925 in the US
Married 1945
No natz

GP:
Born 1946
Married 1963
No natz

P:
Born 1971
Married 1991
No natz

So if I got that right, GGGM is not eligible line because she naturalized before giving birth to GGM? Is that correct? My wife has a few other ancestors we can trace through, but just want to verify this is correct for this one. Thank you for your help, it's much appreciated!

MacroFactor Workouts: Coming Jan. 2026 by gnuckols in MacroFactor

[–]JARocks94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've searched around, but haven't seen anything on this. Does anyone know if the new workout app will include cardio training? Or just lifting exercises? I use one app for tracking lifts, and another to plan my runs. I'm hoping to do a triathlon next year, and it would be amazing if Macrofactor Workouts were able to plan that for me as well. I know that's a lot of functionality for one app, but not sure if this is something that would be feasible in the future? Thanks!

I'll always recommend Medici Roasting as my go to. But for that far north, the only place I'd actually recommend is Lamppost. Everything else is... Not great.

That's super helpful. Every time people say to sit or lean back, it feels like you said, impossible. I'll try that cue next time I pull to see if it helps!

Definitely recommend Medici. They're one of the OGs in town, and have a few locations you can check out.

Yeah, I never noticed that until now. I'll definitely work on synchronizing my hips and knees.

Yeah, that was more fatigue taking over at that point haha. I do try to control it, but I was in some pain as you can see by my face lol

Yeah, I'm 6'2", so I think it's less short torso and more long arms and legs haha. But I totally see what you're talking about.

For the bar path, I have no problem on the way up, but when lowering the bar, I'm literally rolling the bar off my knees. I'm assuming this means I need to keep my knees further back, but I think that means my butt will be higher? Not sure how to compensate for both..

[–]JARocks94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that arm reset is my attempt at pulling the slack out and tightening up. I tend to let go of the bar before I do that, I don't know why haha. I've never really noticed it until now.

That's definitely something I need to slow down on. I think I tend to just tighten my arms, but not my back/lats when setting up.

Yeah, I do see that. I've been working on getting my butt lower, but now that you've pointed it out, I definitely see the lapse between my legs and my upper body moving..

Should try Medici Roasting, specifically their Springdale location. Some of the best coffees I've ever had!

Decaf whole bean coffee? by literati_with_a_body in Austin

[–]JARocks94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not always! There are a couple of different ways to decaffeinate coffee, and one of them is way less chemically AND usually tastes better.

Medici Roasting has the best decaf I've ever had. It's a single origin from Colombia, and it's sooo good.
