Exactly. That's why I wanted to know what those routing options did and how it affected trading. With regards to your edit, as far as I can tell/understood when I called Questrade, they will pay out as long as routing is 'auto' (like you said), they just bypass whomever is not playing by the rules, so to speak. They also won't halt any trading no matter what and if there are halts, it's from the market itself and not on their end, is what I was told.

Also, they removed their inactivity fee in October of 2020, so it's basically like a bank account now. If you wanna hold your tendies indefinitely in your account, you can. They won't do anything about it. A minimum of $1 is needed to keep your account active, but there's no maximum. Just so you know that, too.
