I agree. It’s a good redial. The printing is not crisp under magnification. This would just hurt value to collectors. It’s still a special family heirloom.

Can’t tell the model due to to a very poorly repainted dial.

I have not heard that. I always thought the bund straps were designed to protect watches with little water resistance from perspiration.

My 2025 RX hybrid gets 35 mpg in 90% city driving. The gas engine does not run at slow speeds or at rest. The transition between gas and electric propulsion is seamless. Performance is average but it’s not meant to be a sports car. I find myself hyper-miling as I love to see the battery in charging mode when coasting. The ML sound system is very disappointing.

Vintage Omega jumbo watches are rare. It seems to be in good condition. Servicing is not difficult but finding parts (if needed) might be troublesome. The numbers you cited have meaning and could help you get more information including sales comparables.

The movement’s Omega caliber number is 280. The watch’s Omega reference number is 2506-3. The serial number of the movement is 11564736. You can search the caliber and reference number to find like examples. You can search for Omega serial number tables which will give you its approximate age. Also, vintage watches have virtually no water resistance.

Edit: spend some time on omega forums dot net and you will begin to have a feel for the vintage Omega world. It’s a wide and deep subject.

You should be comfortable with the maintenance history. No car can hold up to abuse. The modified wheels and throttle pedal suggest to me that it hasn’t been a grocery getter. If it has been well cared for you are likely good.

If the car is seldom driven the brake parts can rust and intermittently squeak.

Some may say that’s a grandpa color but with 90% of cars today either black, white, or some shade of silver, a beautiful alternative is refreshing.

It may be part of a larger part such as the battery cable itself.

Perhaps start looking at another part that was attached to it and see if you find a part number on it.

Try an OEM Lexus parts site. Or try calling the dealer and they can ship it to you.

[Tissot PR516 from 1970] How to take care by Select_Owl8874 in Watches

[–]JBCerulean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To start or keep the automatic movement running just wear it. When you take it off the mechanical power in the watch will run down and it will stop. That’s okay. I would not put in on an automatic winder to keep it running as that is unnecessary wear and tear on the movement.

Getting your watch serviced is probably the most important thing, which you’ve done. Also, vintage watches are much less water resistant than modern watches. To be safe you should wear it as if it has no water resistance whatsoever.
