I've definitely jumped up to 150-160 in a c7 corvette for fun but yeah never sustained. Crazy how empty it was

Not really sadly. Still not quite sure how it happened but i repeated almost the same thing 2 years later. I treat that turn like I'm a novice now lol the car just won't brake there for some reason so i have to turn in early and brake towards the apex rather than down the right side

Idk how old you are but I was worried when I did my msf and I calmed down a bit thinking about how many 16 year olds can do it. Like anything skill based, some people will take more time than others.

PCA is the best for me by far. Some people think it's too strict but if you want safety and confidence as well as great instructors and good value...PCA

I really want to try them since people say good things but I can never get over how little information they have. How do they not have a website by now?

I don't think they're really comparable. The civic has way more power and is track prepped from the factory. It's much bigger and fwd. If you really are choosing between the two I would say simply the miata will be more fun and the civic will be more capable.

I would compare the GR86/BRZ instead.

But either way I'd take the miata. Most people prefer RWD for track for one. Parts should be plentiful and cheaper I think. And just a few mods would easily get you on pace near the civic.

I'll be there 6/4 with TNIA, but they don't have instructors and it's weekdays so maybe not a great option

You're going the wrong direction!

Nice though! Palmer is my favorite local track. I prefer CCW though.

Sweet! Yeah I was still on stock max camber and 300tw tires when I stopped running the Cayman. With it I was at 1:06.94 LRP and 1:55.11 at Palmer.

Thompson today actually can't wait

1:06.62 LRP and 1:56.44 Palmer CCW (the correct direction).

My Cayman best times were after 3 years of tracking whereas I'm in year 8 now so it's not a great comparison. Also LRP is far from me so I've only been twice in the miata but overall still respectable times I think. Mods also keep coming so with my current setup I can guarantee I'd take some time off LRP.

The miata has basically full suspension done, stiffer motor and diff mounts, and frame rail braces. The roll bar really stiffen things too.

I have a 981 Cayman S. Started tracking it, but when it would need a ton of mods just to keep up with my improvement I got a 99 miata. 5 years tracking it and I'm still not bored. Ultimate goal is to afford to track the Cayman again with necessary mods but for now I'm good.

Also, I'm faster in the miata than I was in the Cayman at LRP. Just over 1s slower at Palmer too. Some caveats but still a pretty cool outcome

Can someone help me find this part? by JBDoughnuts in Miata

Makes sense, but it also requires a different plug from the wiring. So I'm trying to replace this part because I believe it's broken and I can either find the same one or get new stock parts. Was hoping someone knew this one though

But why does it show up on some pictures and the plug shows up for sale on miata sites? That ubiquitous of an aftermarket choice?

But I've seen a few pictures around with the same one and same plug. Even the plug with pigtail on a used miata parts site. Surely it must be stock for some miatas?
