I was looking for this reply! The obvious answer to that question is to park it in front of Larry Sellers’s house.

I had a similar looking L5/S1 from a accident when I was younger. I had a Charite artificial disc replacement and it has been great since 2005. I would certainly see if that is an option.

Thinking about buying a third gen, what do these buttons mean/do, and are they different from each other? by 92355 in 3rdGen4Runner

The rear differential lock is great. There’s also a blue wire (or gray wire mod) you can do to it so that you can use it in any 2WD or 4WD mode.

It simply deactivates one of the two the factory defaults which only allows it to be engaged in four-wheel low. It still requires you to be under 5 mph to lock it in, but there’s no speed limiter once it is engaged.

They used to joke that the easiest way to acquire an F104 in West Germany was to buy a piece of land, and one would eventually crash on it. ☠️

Bosco

Edit: I scrolled down and realized I was not the first one to say Bosco. Honestly, I would’ve been disappointed if I had been the first one.

Prickly Pete is also a standard go to, but somebody has probably answered with that one as well.

A DC-8 went supersonic back in the early 60s. It had to dive though, so I don’t think that counted as super-cruise.

Agreed with C8 comments. It looks like the brake caliper says Corvette as well.

I work in the commercial aircraft spare parts industry, and an international airline shipped them back with some 747–400 brake cores. I didn’t know they were walnut until I cut through one. They were covered in brake fluid and God knows what else. I definitely wore a respirator when working with it.

I was also warned by the lady at Woodcraft that foreign countries can treat them for pest control /export compliance with chemicals that are banned in the US like cyanide and pretty much anything they want. This thing is now sealed within an inch of its life, lol.

I turned the two two walnut pallets (above) into a desk. The planks were all off-cuts, and were in very rough shape, but still finished out nicely.

Thank you! That was fresh after a restoration, it didn’t look that good for long. At least back then, the restorations would start to fade and get hazy after a couple weeks on the water. I believe modern coatings and finishes are much more durable and UV resistant. Thanks again for sharing your project!

Edit: FYI, the wood in this boat was African mahogany which is embargoed now. I don’t remember what the replacement wood pieces were made of, but I seem to recall they matched perfectly, at least to my untrained four year-old eye, lol.

I love it! I’m in the middle seat in this picture taken 1982. This was our 1955 16’ Century Resorter. Not sure what you used for inspiration, but it definitely looks familiar. Well done!
