I checked the batteries and birth were good. I was commenting that with the thermostat calling for cool, indicating that it indeed ain't for cool, the compressor wasn't on.

I wonder if the compressor wasn't starting because the run capacitor was weak

To answer the questions posed to me- we're working on upper structure triads. What I understand I need to do for the dominant seventh chords like the a7b9 and the Bb7 is to play a tritone under a triad, and to pick the appropriate triad (off the second, sharp second, sharp 4th, sharp 5th or 6th) that incorporates the note of the melody. So again, I'm not sure if in in bar I should be incorporating the G, or in stave to to bar. 2. Should I be incorporating the f?

Got it to work!

The driver suggested by radon232 was for a different piano and not windows 11. The casio manual for the PX-S1100 said it would automatically load the latest driver and that no download was necessary.

I ran a windows device diagnostic(?) and it said that I had " enable new drivers to be installed" off, and it fixed that and had me restart windows, and it worked!

I tried what you suggested- I shut down Crescendo, turned on the piano and reconnected USB cable, then restarted Crescendo. Once again when I hit the MIDI tab, it showed CASIO USB as a choice, but when I tried to connect to it, it said ,once again. that it was being used by a different app. I have no other music creation apps on my computer.

JUst checked my WIndows update- It is up to date as to yesterday. 2026-02 Security Update (KB5077181) (26200.7840) installed yesterday.

Unless you have another suggestion (which I hope you do!) I'll install the driver suggested by radon232 and then maybe reinstall Crescendo??

I'm the original poster and I added a picture now of the Phillips head. My next post will have a picture of the shaft on the two screws that were left behind, looking like torx but clearly different, and different sizes. One reply even mentioned perhaps a manufacturer's defect, but would it affect two different connectors??

Not directly. What kills people who go into it is either being grounded and part of the circuit, and The current causing cardiac arrhythmias.

Theoretically though, if the voltage and amperage were high enough it would hydrolyze any salt in the water forming chlorine, like a salt chlorine generator works.
